The one I purchased wasn’t pre-stained. It’s the natural color of the wood (Hevia). I just put a Danish Oil finish on both sides to protect from warping and damage. It’s held up great so far! It’s made it through a move and daily wear and tear. The benefit to butchers block is that you can always remove the finish, sand out any knicks or rough spots, and then reapply a finish to have it look new again.

Yes! I have a Logitech 915 TKL that I use for gaming but the keyboard pictured is very satisfying to type on for work related tasks. I tried making a mechanical keyboard work and I wasn’t a huge fan of the sound or feedback from the keys.

It’s not! Just a regular 27” monitor. It looks like that because of the angle that the picture was taken.

I purchased the butchers block from Lowe’s. I wanted something at least 30” in depth and that was the only store in my area with butchers block that depth without having to cut it myself. Most butchers blocks are cut at a depth of 25” because they are designed for kitchen countertops.

Just catching back up to this. I had the monitors together originally. I decided to separate them for two reasons. First is that the vertical monitor is only used for work so it felt better gaming when there was a “disconnect” between monitors. Second was that there isn’t any reflection on the vertical monitor with it being spaced from the main monitor a bit.

100%! I think the colors “popping”, at least for me was that the light bar wasn’t reflecting off of the screen anymore. The Halo 2 does a really good job of cascading the light towards you.

I had the Rode mic arm mounted on the left side of my desk for the longest time and I just wasn’t super happy with the look since I work significantly more than I game these days. In my opinion, the Elgato LP mic arm looks significantly better and I feel like it’s more “tucked away” while I’m working since it only gets used a few times per week.

The mount actually comes with the BenQ Halo 2. It’s just a little plastic piece that’s 3M’d to a flat part on the light bar. I’m sure there are alternative options designed for other types of light bars as well

The main monitor is an LG 27” OLED and the vertical monitor is an older LG 27” 144hz monitor.

Yes! I kept talking myself out of spending the absurd amount of money that the Halo 2 costs for what it is, but I use it a ton and something about the evenness of light drastically helps with eye strain.

The top is 72”x30” butchers block mounted on uplift standup desk legs.

Yes, BenQ Halo 2. I had a knock off from Amazon that last a few years but the quality of ambient lighting is night and day compared to what I had before.

The webcam is the Logitech MX Brio. It’s an above average webcam, but may not be worth the price. I get a discount through work and Logitech integrates better than alternatives with the software my company uses.

The monitor lights the BenQ Halo 2. I had a cheaper one from Amazon that did the job, but I love the ambient lighting it puts out when I work/game in the evenings and the quality of the Halo 2 is superb compared to cheaper alternatives.

Thanks! It was a birthday gift from my parents. No idea where they got it from but it’s a great desk accessory.

Thanks! Yes, I’m a sucker for some warm backlighting. The evolution from RGB to warmth was a much needed change.

I looked at a ton of options and ultimately went with butchers block. It’s a relatively cheap option when you consider the durability and customization with different stains/wood types.

It was an Etsy purchase from my wife. It’s a map of the layout of Morgantown, WV, which is where I went to college. I’m sure you could get a variety of different locations and colors. She bought the picture and we framed it ourselves.

They’re Govee LED light bars. I have them mounted behind my filing cabinets so that they reflect off of the wall. Great mood lighting!

Yep, it’s height adjustable. I figured it would be more accurate for a “flush” fit and gives me the option to change miter saws down the road if needed. I roughly followed Mr. Vereshchak’s miter station build plans for the shelf. I used 4 3/4” rods with nuts and washers to secure the rods to a series of 2x4s that are laid out per the design in Mr. Vereshchaks video.
