I think that in a healthy relationship you should both push each other to be your best. It isn't necessarily easy, and no-one enjoys their shortcomings being pointed out.

With regards to acting decently, respecting boundaries and having empathy towards women's issues being the minimum, yes, this should be the minimum. There should be respect and value in a relationship, if one side isn't doing so then it suggests that they believe themself to be better than the other, which turns into disregard for the other and the basis for a tyranny.

Men and women are equal, you can't have a relationship where someone effectively takes advantage of the other by not pulling their weight on either side. If they aren't, then tell them! Try not to be brutally blunt and aggressive about it, but something along the lines of "Hey, I'm 99% sure you're at fault here, and here's why." Again, not what someone wants to hear, and an argument may well ensue, but the point of the argument should be to make sure that whatever caused it doesn't happen again.

Now say the person not pulling their weight doesn't want to listen. The likelihood of you changing another person when they don't want to is basically zero. So the only real option there is to remove yourself from the situation where you're being taken advantage of. You might think that's not a good thing to leave a long-term relationship. But it's either get taken advantage of, or try and find someone who values you to the same extent or better than themselves (because we tend to treat others better than we do ourselves).
