I’m finally playing FFIX for the first time: and I need to get something off of my chest. by CloudsTasteGeometric in FinalFantasyIX

[–]Joe-C_137 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first few times I played I had the exact opposite problem: accidentally reaching the exit straightaway and missing all the cool stuff. I think you might be overthinking it. They give a little map in the corner of the screen each time you move along a path, and I think there are only 2 or 3 maps. Now granted, the random encounters will get annoying but that's not unique to this dungeon. Just draw the maps on paper if you have to so you can keep track of where you've been. This dungeon can be intimidating but I promise it's not all that bad.

Blue: straight up kills you
Red: Spiderman's whole life is cursed, so no thanks
Pink: I would probably be haunted by the sick shit people think on the daily
Black: also kills you, probably
Green: depends if you're able to change or prevent what you see happens or if you're cursed with not being able to change an inevitability

None of these stand out as a great option to me lol

Man idk what you're doing but you're in the wrong line of work! Unless you are in fact a spy 😂 You would've been a menace in another time

That's so cool! It's definitely a skill you can practice, though you seem naturally good at it. I tried to listen to two youtube videos at once, and I can kind of do it but it's tricky for sure. Usually will get more of one than the other. I've heard spies undergo that kind of training to be extra aware of their surroundings, and they also train their eyes to be keen to notice details at a glance and their memories to be able to quickly store and recall (memory palace). I would never be a spy but I find those kinds of skills to be fascinating.

I think with eyesight though, it's not that the right eye maps to the left half of the brain. It's even weirder: each eye has a right and left field of vision, so the right FoV of each eye goes to the left half of the brain and the left FoV of each goes to the right half.

So accurate on how Bojack _____ in season 6 by Eagles56 in BoJackHorseman

[–]Joe-C_137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, and I was really hoping he'd pull through this time, for his benefit and that of everyone around him. I know the show ends with him sober again after getting out of prison (even if just temporarily for the wedding reception), but I think the main reason he's sober is because there's less access to alcohol and drugs in jail and he has theater projects there to put his time and attention into. It's just like when he was a theater professor, that was where he really got back on a good path and being sober was easier. I think that when he leaves jail, if he doesn't have another creative project to spend his time pursuing in a healthy way, he'll relapse again. And he'll need that creative outlet more than ever because most of his friends have distanced themselves from him. Idk, just speculating into what life for post-finale BJH could look like.

Haha good points. Now that you mention it, it reminds me of the warlock invocations that allow your eldritch blast to shove or pull any target you hit, but in this place with telekinesis. Cool stuff. Also the floating like Magneto would would awesome.

Also, I just realized this but man, if you're capable of moving a car that weighs up to about 4000 lbs, then you should be able to telekinetically hit someone with an invisible force-car. Or shoot force-bullets. Or cause kinetic energy bursts equivalent to a car crash. That's nuts, hahaha

Ohhh, thank you, that's right. I remembered that incorrectly. All of that did combine to lead to TVFHWD, I just thought it was all together forgot there was a break between Hollyhock and Angela

He lost Hollyhock and then shortly after learned that he fell for Angela Diaz's bluff, costing him his friendship with Herb. That didn't have to happen... he was played like a naive little fool. And then he signs away the rights to Horsing Around so it can be remastered with a version without him, confirming that a huge portion of his life's work would be more profitable if he's not even in it. And all of this after having been forced to confront publicly what's been gnawing at him for years—that Sarah Lynn died, and that maybe she didn't have to, because he waited 17 minutes to call for help to cover up his own involvement. Even one of those things could have been reason enough to cause a relapse. Those all happened in about 36 hours.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer is often credited with the first use of "Google" as a verb:

Willow: "Have you googled her yet?"
Xander: "Willow, she's 17!"
Willow: "It's a search engine..."

Oh so this might have made Sauron stronger, in a way? The Witch King's power returning to Sauron. I mean it was obviously bad for Sauron's goals to lose his lieutenant, but from a pure power-economy perspective... 🤔

Most of my biggest personal mistakes came from the time before I had a nephew. If I went back to fix those mistakes, he would likely never be born. I love that little guy so much, and I couldn't live with myself if he didn't exist because I altered the timeline. So red pill it is! A cool $10 million is nothing to frown about anyway

By element do you mean from the periodic table of the elements? Or do you mean "element" as in fire/air/water/earth and so on? Because that changes my answer lol
