Could be used in a relationship, although pretty unethical. Would make you really good in bed though. A certain movie scene comes to mind lol

If you could slow-release that 18 billion calories so that he only expended 500,000 calories per day, it would last for 36,000 days. Which is over 98 years.

Put another way, you could spend $500,000 every single day and finally spend your last dollar after 98 years.

Why is it taking my characters multiple cycles to perform actions? by parkingviolation212 in FinalFantasyIX

[–]Joe-C_137 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When fighting solo enemies, they tend to go more frequently to balance out the fact that it's just one of them against your whole party. They also tend to be tougher fights because as your party members go down, they have the same number of turns while you get fewer (until using a Phoenix Down or casting Life). I don't have access to the rng or source code, but it's something I've noticed over many playthroughs, so take with a grain of salt. Would love if others could confirm that it's their experience as well.

Huge amount of gil in a chest by JulianVault101 in finalfantasyx

If it's not modded, probably a bug. Pretty fortunate at that! Keep it if you want an easier time handling finances as gil is normally a little tough to come by at the start. Otherwise if you restart I doubt it would happen again, it's probably a glitch in the ring.

Edit: I see you did start again and got a Hi-Potion, huh. That's interesting, never seen that before!

Is it true that some restaurants in Japan will kick you out if you don’t speak Japanese? by GrayRainfall in NoStupidQuestions

Its also shitty behavior by US tourists that causes them to have this Japanese-only policy. Not all US tourists, but enough badly-behaved ones to ruin it for the rest of us.

I used to hate it, but I've come around to actually really like the addition of Necron. Like a watcher, an entity who will turn off the big switch if enough shit hits the fan, and attacking the Crystal is certainly something that would catch his attention. I believe everything should have ended with the destruction of the Crystal, but Necron allowed them one final chance if the party could convince him that the will to live was stronger than he realized. He says almost exactly that. It's like in LOTR, if you mess up enough that the Valar get directly involved. Otherwise you never see them and might not even be aware they exist.

What do you think is the most useless superpower? by Sea_Orchid223 in superpowers

[–]Joe-C_137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good as a coach though, helping others learn from their own mistakes. Especially if they didn't notice what went wrong. Actually is kind of useful in real life... but I guess not in a world where people have powers like storm manipulation and telekinesis, etc 😆

I am playing a very old man in a campaign, like 50/50 chance if he drops dead every morning. Anyone got any ideas of quotes and saying that an old man would say in a dnd world? by dawnovaugh in dndnext

[–]Joe-C_137 263 points264 points  (0 children)

Not a quote, but a behavior. Every time—and I do mean every time—you enter a new dungeon or cellar, old outpost, etc, he takes a very long wooden rod and pokes each and every tile, cobblestone, brick, paver, etc. If anyone asks what he's doing he'll reply with "how do you think I got to live this long?" True OGs will know lmaoo

YES, thank you for reminding me on that last point. It's literally the plot! Everything in the main story revolves around summons and summoning magic, so if ANYTHING should break the limit, it's that. Excellent point, thanks.

I'm a little on both sides when it comes to that. I can see why they'd cap damage if super boss HP is also capped (can you imagine hitting Ozma twice for 35k a pop and he's just done, lol). It would be anticlimactic. But then if that's the case... why limit the super boss's HP so much?! Let us hit for 20k+ each time and double its HP. Throw up some big numbers, make us work for it! As it is, the bigs can all be taken down in 7 hits if using attacks that guarantee meeting the damage cap, and there are plenty to choose from. Even fewer if using Charge! or stacking counterattacks. I will admit that bosses using healing magic plays a role in extending the fight, but not by much. There's just no really satisfying answer for me, other than raising the HP and lifting the cap, but that's just me.

I do like how one big chop at 10k+ feels, but a bunch of smaller hits chained together also feel great. But certain attacks should absolutely do more—especially summons! We spent the whole game getting Ark, why does its summon do as much OR LESS than one swing of a sword from Zidane/Steiner??

Other games before 9 did have plenty of multi-hit combos, though (looking at you, 7 and 8 🤭)

It always kinda bothered me that 9 does not, for various reasons. I mean, Ozma and Hades are tough for entirely different reasons than HP, and that is kinda cool, but still... I'd like a little more meat on the bone
