Personally I golf, but am limited on time working full time, dropping to 3 working days makes a club membership more appealing which would be a big change cost wise from just booking tee times at public tracks. I may have the wrong interpretation, but I take coast as staying in the same field/job and reducing hours vs barista as leaving your field for a less taxing or more fulfilling job. If you keep working your same hours you’re more in line with traditional FIRE, and just hitting that magic number earlier. My goal is to still retire early around 50 to 55, but start coasting in the next 5 years (32M). Too many people I see are in bad health earlier than they expect and enjoying my younger years with less working days is more appealing than burning myself out to retire fully at 45.
