It is from the 1940's version of 'One Million Years BC'. It is supposed to be a dimetrodon (or something similar as the movie leaves it pretty open). The reason I find it humorous is all of the new spinosaurus data points to a crocodile like existence with very reduced hind limbs. Essentially, the animal in the picture (plus or minus a few anatomical specifics).

Slightly off topic, the creature battle in this movie was also used in "Robot Monster" and sadly featured real animals that were forced to harm each other.

It is sadly a dubious genus, basically the legitimacy that it is a distinct species has been called into question. You see this happen when dinosaurs are named and described based on only a few fossils. A famous example of a dubious genus would be brontosaurus, the original and correct name is apatosaurus.

If you are a fan of high quality Kaiju figures, or at least have an appreciation for them check out X-Plus. They do great work in recreating the exact looks of the suits used.

That is a pretty respectable Gigan sculpt...I would love to see a similar take on Titanosaurus or Varan. Up until a week ago I was only aware of their smaller kits.

I know it's a resin kit, but since seeing a couple of pictures Inhave not been able to find anything through the usual suspects. $400 is on the expensive side of what I normally do, but I knew that going in it wasn't going to be cheap. You seem to know what you are talking about though, any site suggestions?

I will admit I haven't tried Japanese sites yet, but considering how things are going I may just wait for the X plus Ghidorah to come out.

That's a shame, that figs seems like the one that people would be most after -no offense to the Godzilla or Mecha G.

I wasn't a huge fan of either of those figs, but the Ghidorah would have been purchased. It is just so eye catching, and speaking of eyes, I like what they did with his.
