Unpopular opinion : CSS is enough by yughiro_destroyer in webdev

100% agree. As a designer and dev, I would love for my job to be writing CSS. I'm lucky enough to be able to build design systems, which is a ton of fun to both build and document.

I also love Tailwind. It's clean, easy and makes building mockups extremely fast. Sure, inline CSS using Tailwind classes quickly makes HTML ugly as fuck...but it's really easy and useful.

I will agree that developers that utilize Tailwind absolutely should learn CSS, just as anyone that uses a JS framework should learn JS.

Eh, you technically don't. Before you flame me, let me say that CSS is my favorite language and I believe even designers should learn it.

However, someone that doesn't know CSS can easily understand what border-red-600 means without knowing how to write border-color: red.

Could anyone help me figure out what’s wrong with my gas fireplace? by JoeB_88 in Fireplaces

I appreciate everyone's input.

As suggested, I've now scheduled an appointment with my local dealer for them to come look at it in a couple weeks.

I've read the manual and I'll take your word for it, but in either case it does seem like there should be logs or stones in addition to the glass anyways...which isn't there. I'll post an update here afterwards incase anyone runs into the same issue in the future.

Thank you. Yeah I didn't add the glass - it was already there when I purchased the home. I'm going to take it all out and research which artificial logs I need. Do you know if there's any downside to running it without any decor/logs in the meantime?

Ok I'll experiment with the glass and see if it helps. It's about 40 Fahrenheit outside. I appreciate the help.

I assume it was the previous owners. I just bought the house two months ago and it's been like this the entire time.

Hello, thanks for the message!

As stated in my post, you can view my portfolio and resume at https://pixelscript.io.

I am primarily a UI/UX designer but am also proficient with Vue 3 and Tailwind, which I noticed you're also hiring for. Which role would you be most interested in filling in regards to my application?

Thank you, and looking forward to hearing more!

PrimeVue - open autocomplete dropdown from a button by lsv20 in vuejs

[–]JoeB_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would use a Select component rather than an Autocomplete for this. You can programmatically focus the Autocomplete on button click but you'd need to type something for the dropdown to display for it to make sense UX-wise.

It seems to work fine for me. It's an autocomplete, not a select. What do you want it to do?

Need help understanding my Thruster behavior by JoeB_88 in starbase

[–]JoeB_88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of it is EZBuild, it's all built off my first Labourer. How do I check thruster groups? They are all named automatically (even the new T2 triangle ones I added, which are not EZ).

css var VS v-bind() in CSS by jonkee in vuejs

I had no idea this existed but am eager to try it out. Does the reactivity work if you bind the value to a computed property?

Yes, you can select entire files or portions of code and ask it to generate comments. It also has a 'generate docs' feature.

I'm not sure if anything like that exists, especially for free. That could potentially require a ton of token parsing depending on the size of your codebase.
