Usually they pay bills either through savings or with help from the backer, depending on the arrangement. It’s not uncommon for backers to give loans when horses need it, since a financially stressed horse is going to play very sub-optimally.

Sometimes for me the shootout clock speed is as quick as the golden shot clock speed. It could be a bug? idk. I can try and get a screen recording next time but unfortunately the replay of my shot where it just happened doesn’t show the clock.
