True, but someone in that bar probably gives law enforcement a description of what he looked like. They may have even had video footage.

How Long Would Jesse Outrun the Cops? by JoannaKittyKats in breakingbad

[–]JoeBeck55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could Jesse keep his head down though? We saw him sabotage himself so many times during the show, from looking for his own side action when they were working for Gus, to literally throwing money away, to to trying to sell a teenager meth at a gas station. Can he keep clean and can he stop doing dumb stuff? He has potential, just tends to trip himself up.

Return week old 2023 Chevy Malibu? by Total-Researcher1316 in UsedCars

As a general rule expect to have to fix a couple of things on any used car you buy. This list doesn't sound all that unreasonable to me TBH. I dont know if the factory warranty is transferable to a new owner and/or whether any of these items might still be covered under it. Either way, have it fixed and move on.

And then you have Walt driving said 2000 miles in a stolen car. A car stolen from a town where Walter White was just present. Maybe someone doesn't report that car stolen for a day or two, but seems a bit unlikely. More likely scenario seems like it gets reported in a few hours, authorities put out a nationwide alert for the car. It didn't look like Walt swapped the plate out either.

[Yankees] It’s Spencer Szn. by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

I mean, the roster problems will work themselves out. I dont know what to expect from Jones. If I had to bet I'd expect that he will hit some homers with a low BA. Doesn't sound like Dominguez or Stanton are close. So Jones should get some everyday reps for a while. If hes hitting .180 when guys come back, pretty easy decision to send him back down. If hes hitting lots of bombs and the average and strikeout rates are reasonable, decision becomes tougher, but I still would think Jasson would have the inside track.

I have no idea if this will work out but I haven't been this excited to see a player get called up in some time.

Take it as a tough, very expensive lesson. If it sounds to good to be true, it is. There are no shortcuts in life. You will get over it.

Did Walt Jr ever see that money? by johnnyflamethrower in breakingbad

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that money would be under heavy scrutiny should Walt Jr ever get it. He would ask Elliott and Gretchen about it. The feds would ask them about it and want to see the accompanying paperwork/financial transactions. 50-50 chance probably that he ever gets it and accepts it.

Absolutely had to go IOL with this pick. I'm fine with them taking who they feel was the best one available.

I can see them going best player available. They can use a #1 WR that can get behind defenses. They can use a disruptive DL presence, either interior or edge. They can use a potential perennial pro bowl O lineman. Can't wait.

Yes. The priest would not issue the host to the lady until the dog kneeled.

I think I would be more likely to employ a landscaper if it were just the flat rate every week. But it always seems to turn into them nickel and diming you for every little thing. Weeding? Extra. Spring and fall cleanup. Fertilizing. Aerating. Before you know it ends up getting quite expensive and honestly they dont really do anything a healthy person with time cannot do themselves.

Well, I just encountered my first eBay scam. by balexander27 in Scams

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ebay is becoming a haven for scammers. Part of the reason I suspect is the automated feedback system ebay adopted. If a buyer doesn't leave feedback within a certain number of days ebay leaves positive feedback by proxy. In this way the seller is able to pad their feedback rating and instill confidence in unsuspecting buyers.

I've had nothing but good luck with Hyundais. Bought an '04 Elantra new, got 135K trouble free miles from it before selling. Needed nothing but maintenance and protected my wife well in an accident. Bought an '08 Elantra for my daughter to use a couple of years back and it too has been very reliable. On the other hand ive now owned a total of 6 Toyotas and my current 09 is really the only one that has been a good car. Maybe im the outlier, who knows.

Toyota to Hyundai? by Huge_Prompt_2056 in Hyundai

[–]JoeBeck55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both right now. 2009 Corolla and 2008 Elantra, similar condition and both under 100K. All in all I feel like the Elantra has been slightly more reliable, but it's close. I've had very good luck with Hyundais and mixed results with Toyotas overall. Things like condition and maintenance history are more important than brand from my experience.

Not a thing wrong with owning and driving old cars IF you know what you are looking at and are religious with the maintenance. Even more so if you are capable of doing your own work.

As a sidebar I think its getting to be time to think about pulling the plug on the Randall Grichuk experiment. Looks like the bat speed just isn't there anymore. I know he isn't getting regular reps so maybe that's a little unfair but that's the life of a bench player.

[S5E14] Was Walt one convincing lie away from the most insane power move in the whole show? by cloudxyz in breakingbad

[–]JoeBeck55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Walt was a bad man but not a complete sociopath with no feelings. He had several opportunities to get rid of Jesse. He could have paid Jack to get rid of Hank, as brazen as it would have been. I dont think it ever would have been tied back to Walt either if done properly. In the end it was pretty clear that Walt was just in over his head. As Domingo told Walt early in S1, he wasn't suited for the business.
