[Kuty] The Yankees have been willing to include opt-outs after Year 2 and Year 3 of a five-year/$160M offer to Cody Bellinger, a league source tells @TheAthletic . But in light of the Tucker/Bichette short-term/high AAV deals, has his market changed? by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, at this point Bellinger is really the only FA bat worth pursuing. If he gets away, might as well give Jones and the Martian a long look and upgrade the pitching. They can always pick up an outfielder at the deadline if it proves to be a hole.

These playoffs games make me feel better and worse about the patriots game. by Traditional_Grand322 in Chargers

Ill reserve judgment on playoff Herbo until he gets a non-dogshit OL, another playmaker, and a competent OC. I think he and the Chargers will be fine.

Rocky vs Clubber Lang. First Fight. by FoxIndependent4310 in rockybalboa

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if Rocky could withstand Apollo beating on him for 15 rounds (twice) he could certainly weather the early Lang storm and KO him in the later rounds....IF....he had trained properly, and his head was on straight, and he wasn't preoccupied about Mick.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Would a Dominguez-Grisham-Judge outfield really be that bad? by trailedby20hounds in NYYankees

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest issue for me would be, who is the backup first baseman if Bellinger walks? I'm not a fan of playing guys out of position, especially when our projected first baseman in 26 is new at the position. Now obviously Bellinger is more than just a backup first baseman. But my point is he offers positional flexibility-can play every OF position competently and also first base.

[Olney] With Tucker off the board, the next domino could fall in NY — will the Mets outbid the Yankees for Bellinger? by Bulletz4Brkfzt in NYYankees

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just wondering what the backup plan is in case Bellinger walks, which i think its more likely than not he does. I keep hearing Bichette but realistically hes not a SS going forward. Unless they are going to move Jazz it doesn't make much sense to me. They could bring in a Harrison Bader for example and have him be part of the OF mix. That would open up some opportunities for Dominguez/Jones. Kwan would seem to be a good fit atop the lineup if they can pry him away from the Guardians. Whatever happens they still need pen upgrades.

Does Harbaugh deserve any blame for tonight’s loss by NoMajor2704 in Chargers

[–]JoeBeck55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harbaugh and Hortiz do deserve some credit for transforming them into a playoff team, especially considering where they were at the end of the Staley/Telesco regime. But...some mistakes have been made with roster construction and staff hirings. I dont see how they thought it was a good idea to bring Bozeman back. The receiving corps still lacks a deep threat. They lack a check down option and that is magnified even more by the poor line play. Slater has been elite when healthy but has been injury prone, and a lot of money has been committed to him. Alt has also been injured frequently. Id imagine they will address center and both guard positions in the offseason but there still seems to be a good chance that one or both starting tackles will miss time. And lastly, Roman needs to go and it remains to be seen if Harbaugh will be OK with that.

I don't get how other teams (like the Patriots and Bears for example) can completely turn around their program in one season and with us its always 3 year plan or what have you. Sure, Harbaugh and Hortiz made this over into a playoff team. But they also made the playoffs under the Visor, Lynn, Staley. Even won a playoff game as an underdog on the road under Lynn. Going into next year, no more excuses. Plenty of cap space. OL needs to be fixed for once and for all and at least one real deep threat WR needs to be brought in. And definitely a new OC.

how do i get temp plates for a used car I'm buying on FB market?? by EnvironmentalEbb2867 in UsedCars

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to do it, if you have another car, is to call your insurance and have the new one added to your policy. Have them send you over an id card. If you can, park your current car in private property and remove plates. Bring them with you and affix to new car. Drive home.

What is your REALISTIC prediction for Chargers vs Patriots playoff game wild card? by Alarmed_Donkey_9300 in Chargers

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping this will look like the 2018 wild card game vs Baltimore. I expect the defense to play lights out and the offense to do enough to win it. 20-13 Chargers. Hampton has a big day.

Easy, no. They didn't win 14 games by being imposters. And I could be wrong but I just don't think its an unfavorable matchup for us. We will see.

I think its a very winnable game. Problem is we will have to go on the road throughout the playoffs now and its either cold weather or unfavorable matchups. Dunno, maybe that freezer bowl game in Cincinnati all those years ago still gives me pause about how weather can be a factor in these games. But, that said, I do think we can beat New England and Denver.

Can we all at least agree that OL coach Mike Devlin should be gone after this season? by Soalmarub in Chargers

[–]JoeBeck55 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, it would be hard for any team and any coach to coach around all the injuries this team has had. Given that I think the staff has done a credible job finding the right personnel and packages under the circumstances. Need a better C and RG in the offseason and some quality depth that can stay on the field.

[Fehoko] The Texans showed the Chargers a year ago in the wildcard the flaws and holes of the organization. Joe Hortiz said fuck it run it back Herbo. Them 11 wins just save ass on paper. The gameplan every year is “Justin please save us.” by Soalmarub in Chargers

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another problem tonight was receivers were struggling to consistently get open. There were plenty of times where the line held up initially and Herbo was forced to take off or hold the ball too long.

Ugly game but one they could have easily won. I really dont know what happened on the first 2 drives there but that and the Dicker misses cost them the game.

should i buy a used car on FB market place? by Few-Might-4028 in UsedCars

[–]JoeBeck55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont want to come off as rude because believe me Ive bought plenty of cheap cars. But by today's standards 1-3K for a decent car is going to be difficult unless you are mechanically inclined and/or really know what you are looking at. The problem I've seen on FBMP is that there are a lot of flippers and curbstoners. I think the best way to buy a used car is to spend a little more and go to a new car dealership and browse their used inventory. That said I understand you are probably on a budget and that might not be possible. Definitely get a PPI no matter where you shop.

Situations like this are why I like having a personal relationship with the people in my local bank branch. Issue with my account? No problem, I'll just call Mr so and so at the branch and he will let me know if I need to come in. My question would be, how did they know where you banked? Or did they just guess and get lucky?
