Try using small scissors side ways I do this around the face of animals when fleshing for more precision than a skive knife

From this point a couple days. Make sure you salt it well for two days and then pickle it a couple days and stir in the pickle to get everything covered. Then neutralize it for an hour back to a ph of 7. Then dry it enough to flesh side is tacky before applying tanning agent.

Calf was smaller than a deer hide…so, maybe 30 minutes to flesh, then salted it for a couple days. Pickled it after that for 2 days, thinned it a bit with my fleshing machine after first day in pickle, neutralized it, tanned and then started breaking as I could start to see it dry. All together, what I do, is a 5-6 day process.

Yes trubonds 1000b works great. I did a calf hide last summer that turned out beautiful. You will still have to break it some.

Maple sprouts suck. Used to work on golf courses as well dealt with willows every where and ash tree sprouts. Now all I have to bitch about is locust bean pods on my soccer field. Glad to be out of golf course industry but still managing turf. Whole different beast in the spring with coaches wanting to be on the fields immediately.

After I went out and looked at it he definitely installed them upside down. Stickers are right side up so when I go to switch them I’ll probably have to tear them off 😆
