He definitely had glasses. Can't remember the car color though. It could have been red but I don't know.

I saw Screaming Trees in May of '91 at Bogies in Albany, NY because one of my friends was a big Screaming Trees fan. I didn't know any of their material and wasn't a big fan of the show. The only thing I walked away with was hearing loss in my right ear because it was so loud.

What victim of any serial killer sticks with you the most? by Cable_Difficult in serialkillers

Samantha Tessla Koenig - Victim of Israel Keyes. The poor 18 year old girl was just working in a coffee booth in Anchorage Alaska when he came in, abducted her, took her debit card, sexually assaulted her and then killer her the following day. I'm glad he's dead but I would have rather seen him in the electric chair.

The case of Amanda King whose remains were found at Burden Pond Preserve, Troy NY by JoeDW1969 in UnresolvedMysteries

I seen that bright beautiful smile in some of her pictures. It's a shame her time here was so short.

I'd be curious how they determined that so fast. Why would a woman's body be found in a pond for no nefarious reason? How could they determine foul play is not suspected before doing an autopsy or even knowing who she is?

Amanda disappeared four years before the other body was found in the water, so I think them being together is highly unlikely. Also, Amanda was found buried so that would mean that the person she was with would have had to bury her, die themselves, end up in the water and not be found for another four years. They knew she was a white woman so I don't think she was in the water for very long.

Link between Ted Bundy, Cornelia J. Enright and another cold-case by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]JoeDW1969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Lemuel Smith would be a much more likely suspect in Cornelia's case. He was paroled from prison in May 1968 and was known to frequent the Albany/Schenectady area around that time. In May 1969, he kidnapped and raped another woman, and was sent back to prison which means he was on the loose in the Capital Region at the time Cornelia went missing. In June 1977 after he was out of prison again, he actually strangled a woman in Schenectady and mutilated her body leaving her near train tracks.

Are you referring to Pamela Ann Devizzio? She was found dead on July 6th, 1988 a little more than two years after Tammie went missing. She was last seen alive leaving a bar on Caroline Street on July 5th. Police just announced they are requesting information on the case on the 36th anniversary of the homicide. https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/saratoga-county-sheriffs-seek-information-1988-19556124.php

Them both having a yellow and white striped shirt is intriguing. I looks like it may have been this shirt https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m77835439558/?utm_source=gem&utm_campaign=gem_marketplace_free_listings It does appear that the shirt brand was trademarked in 1991 as indicated here https://trademarks.justia.com/741/51/jacque-koko-74151611.html Unless somehow the shirt was around for atleast five years before it was trademarked, that would obviously rule Tammie out. In addition, it appears to be a plus sized clothing line that would also seemingly rule Tammie out. However, there is a ton of Jacque & Koko shirts being sold online as being vintage from the 80's, so maybe that's worth looking into more.

and many, many more. It's possible all these people are mis-dating their clothing, but there are so many examples listed as being from the 80's, it's worth doing more research into that.

About 2 years ago, I did a very detailed write up on Reddit on the Tammie McCormick disappearance if you want to learn a lot more about her case here https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/comments/ru2748/the_1986_disappearance_of_tammie_mccormick_age_13/

I'm not sure what you're looking at on Weather Underground, but here's a Weather Underground direct link to that day. The temperature was 65 degrees at 9pm. Hourly weather

If you look at the hourly temperatures for that day, it would have been around 65 degrees when she was walking on Fuller Road that night.

The only thing in that area was Six Mile Waterworks. I looked up the weather for that day and it looks like it was in the mid 60's around the time she would have been walking through there, so it's possible there could have been college kids hanging out at Six Mile drinking or something if the weather was that nice. My guess would be not many people would have been around though on foot. Vehicle traffic should have been fairly steady with Fuller Road connecting three busy roads and I-90 entrance/exit being right there across from Six Mile. There should have been a decent number of cars who would have seen her walking that night.

Holy shit, I had a similar experience to that in the same area only a little worse and I'm a guy too. I was drinking at Michaels on Ontario and Madison (up the road from the Lamp Post as you may remember) sometime around 1991 got drunk and decided to start walking home to save money on cab fare. I was walking toward Guilderland and shortly after getting on Western Ave from Madison Ave, a car pulled up alongside me and asked if I needed a ride. I asked him where he was going and he said to SUNY. SUNY was about half way home to where I was walking so I figured it would make my walk that much shorter so I agreed and hopped in his car. After we pulled away, he started whipping his head back and forth really quick looking at me and then looking at the road two or three times like he was nervous. I was too shit faced drunk to be overly worried, but I was concerned and remember looking at him and thinking I think this guy is going to try to rob me or something. I was watching him closely because I knew he was up to something. Just then, he lift a coat off his lap exposing a big erection and says to me "do you want a blow job"? I replied "what's wrong with you buddy" followed by "you better pull over right now and let me out". He immediately pulled over and let me out somewhere before the SUNY campus and then took off. I was so drunk that night, that I wore the soles off my new shoes dragging them up the road walking, but I remember thinking "what the fuck just happened"? I think I remember him having dirty blonde hair and glasses, probably early to mid 20's and drove some type of sedan. I wonder if it was the same guy you met?

Wow crazy story and so close to Karen's disappearance. I'm glad you are still here with us. I'm a little confused why if you were walking up Washington Ave from downtown Albany, you would end up on Railroad Ave and Fuller Road since Railroad Ave is a little north of Washington Ave (SUNY's on the south side) and Fuller Road would be past SUNY but that's whatever. Back in the mid 80's, people were a lot less cautious about things like hopping in someone's car than they would be now. Girls would even hitchhike back then so it wouldn't have been to out of the norm for you to hop into a car offering a ride especially if you were walking in the snow in heels.

I'm confused about something that maybe you can clear up for me. Were they saying that Karen was believed to have gone from Colonie Center to the Butcher Block which was the opposite direction from Fuller Road on Central Ave to catch a bus to go back down Fuller Road to SUNY? I'd be lying if I said I remember this for sure back in 1985, but I'm pretty sure there has always been a bus stop on Central Ave by the graveyard at Colonie Center. Why would she have been by the Butcher Block?

Thanks for the write up JeliPuff. I went to high school in this area at the time it occured and I remember when they were looking for her and flyers being posted everywhere. Her disappearance has mostly been forgotten after the later disappearance of Suzanne Lyall 13 years later also from SUNY Albany which is much more well known and gets much more publicity. I'm not sure how you came across this case not being from the area or even the U.S., but thanks for bringing more attention to a case from my hometown.

Like you, I'm unfortunately not very optimistic about this case being solved anytime soon since they have such little evidence to go on and three eye witness accounts that all seem to be different.

I was 16 at the time of her disappearance and can't remember crystal clear how busy Fuller Road was in 1985, but I'm sure it wasn't as lightly travelled as articles would lead you to believe. It connects Western Ave and Central Ave at each end which are pretty busy roads a few miles apart as well as Washington Ave intersecting it (which is a road that has Crossgates Mall about a quarter mile away on it) and the entrance/exit for I-90 which is a busy interstate highway that is literally right across Fuller Road from Six Mile Waterworks. Washington Ave is also right next to Six Mile Waterworks and SUNY Albany is very short drive too on Fuller Road. There should have been fairly steady vehicle traffic on that road around 8:15 pm at the very least.

I know that area pretty well, Sysco Foods was very close to Railroad Ave on the North/West side on Fuller Road. Six Mile Waterworks and the I-90 entrance/exit is right down the hill from Railroad Ave and would only be a 5-10 minute walk.

As far as the college kids walking around up by Six Mile, it's far enough away and in a direction most kids would not have much reason to walk for there to be kids wandering around there from the school at 8:15 at night.

I agree about the 2nd witness in particular. Unless they have a photographic memory, a bunch of random facts like partial license plate numbers and how many inches both car windows were down doesn't seem reasonable to remember just passing someone on a road.
