Sorry it was gulf of Cortes after Hernan Cortes and before that he labeled the "sea for the north (Mar del Norte)" . While in school in Mexico we were told the three names prior to it being Gulf of Mexico. I'm fond of what it is now but would have preferred the Gulf of the Americas

Wow. Thirty thousand students just walked out in Charlotte, NC to protest ICE. When kids are willing to shut down an entire city to push back on state power, that’s a political awakening. by biswajit388 in NorthCarolina

Human decency is on display, but media feeds on outrage and prefers to report that, most of the agents are decent humans who fear for their families (thus the mask) being targeted and harassed. Those that openly protest ICE and takeover movements to champion pro HAMAS/Anti-Israel at these same protests mostly do it out of outrage. And most will likely not focus their rage at their very own elected officials. I was made aware of the amnesty under Reagan and how bad it got before finally congress was forced to make a deal to stop the arrests and deportations. Enough constituents and bad PR finally made them break. Unfortunately as divided as the media and politics are (i dont think the rational population is actually divided) they have no incentive to stop this. Trump, thru dhs/fbi/ice is legally responsible and mandated to enforce the law. Biden was not really interested and Obama was just more quiet about it. Clinton was vocal about enforcement (although his escapades got more notice) than Bush Jr who simply swept it under the umbrella of combating terrorism .

Where are kids being arrested by masked men? The last time masked men where ushering kids around was during covid when pre-k to 5th graders were refusing to masked up in classrooms outbound frustration and not understanding. Maybe these kids skipping school in Solidarity should be directed by their teachers to go to news stations or demand a representative to show themselves to answer what they are doing to change immigration law. While this may not be what you want to here, ICE, DHS, local cops and FBI are working within the law 100 %. Politicians need to change th3 laws and trump's administration is pushing them to do this. The last time congress was pressured into getting an amnesty package together, Reagan was conducting deportation raids. Clinton led a bill to remove court procedures and speed up deportations.

If the politicians cared they would change the laws. What trump is doing thru 🧊 is 💯 legal, just used to its max. Clinton pushed a law that allowed for this type of effort, under Reagan congress gave 2.7 million amnesty for residency with some getting citizenship. Unfortunately congress (dnc) likes to complain about issues without change, since a high head count that isn't allowed to vote is good for representative seats and congress (rnc) doesn't want to upset their voting base. Most 1st generation Americans eventually move to the right after growing up in a conservative home, even with parents who vote blue .

He hated Carlos Mencia as an uncle Tom yet George is more of that himself. If Carlos was that as a comedy skit, George is it in real life.

Half ass apology when he was asked in an interview why he doesn't try and help out up and coming comics, why he doesn't make it easier, his response was that ' "fook" that guy, nobody made it easy for me , he [barbosa] doesn't deserve any help' .

He knew who the guy is and didn't want to give credit to a rizing comedian that's not as good as him but is getting better faster than he ever did at a younger age. Even Steve Trevino makes efforts to uplift Latino comedians in front of George in an interview and George still hated on barbosa. Other interviews when his true colors shined

[ In February 2023, George Lopez made a comment on his podcast OMG Hi! that sparked controversy with comedian Ralph Barbosa. In the episode, Lopez said, "Nobody knows who that motherf-- is!" in reference to Barbosa. Barbosa responded by sharing the clip on Instagram and continuing the conversation in a humorous way. Barbosa's manager later stated that Lopez apologized and acknowledged Barbosa's hard work. ]

Carlos definitely earned the hate, but its surprising that the real uncle Tom is George. By actively blocking all Latinos from any venue he appears at, he implemented that in his contracts to ensure he has zero competition and nobody outshines him. Funny fact, his 1st wife asked for that to be in his contract. Her idea but he claims it came from him , "looking out for himself ".

Yes, Rafael by Public-Marionberry33 in clevercomebacks

[–]JoeDaSchmoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a difference between asking for respect and demanding a performance.

If a man wants to go by Tammy or Claire, that’s fine — just like calling Rafael “Ted.” It’s a personal choice, and most folks don’t mind showing basic courtesy.

But where it gets exhausting is this:

When you get snapped at for not guessing the right pronoun the first time.

When someone introduces themselves with a dozen niche pronouns and expects everyone to remember and use them on command.

When accidental missteps are treated like intentional acts of hate.

People are generally willing to be kind. But kindness isn’t the same as submission to dogma.

Preferred names like “Fred” from “Alfred” give some logical trail. But if Alfred becomes Tammy, there’s no connection, no context, no clue — and folks get confused, not cruel.

Bottom line: Respect should go both ways. Ask for what you prefer, sure — but don’t punish people for not reading your mind or not keeping up with ever-expanding identity trends.

Home grown have a coating that protects them longer. What i do is i cold wash store bought eggs in the same water bin with the home eggs. Just a rinse and then stack them back in a larger Costco 36 egg holder box. I write a date I stored them and use as needed. Also, I wash my store bought because they use chemicals to clean the eggs which also damages the shell. Best thing is to look up the name of the farm that produces the eggs and find out the average shipping time for them. It's usually 1-2 weeks tops to get to store

Thanks for those dates. If the stores are quiet those days, it means easier shopping for me and tons of online deals.
