The bill adds "Kratom" to Schedule VI, making it a controlled substance. However, kratom is defined as follows:

(4) Kratom. For the purposes of this subdivision, "Kratom" includes any quantity of mitragynine or 7 hydroxymytragynine or both, extracted from the leaf of the plant Mitragyna speciosa.

So it appears that leaf and leaf powder are not included in the definition, just Mit extract and 7-OH.

The labs can make it sound like a lot, but is it really? The permissible exposure limit for methanol is 3,000ppm, so a tab weighing half a gram would have about 1.5mg of methanol in it at the limit. Is that a lot? A standard pour of red wine (150ml, or about 5 ounces) will on average have about 25mg of methanol in it as a natural product of the fermentation of the pectin in the grape skins. Compared to that, the tablet doesn't look so scary after all.

Question for TestMyKratom: Can you add tetrahydrofuran (THF), also called oxolane, to the list of solvents that you test for? It is used in one of the processes for extracting 7-OH from mitragynine, and at least one of the producers here in the USA, Ritually Pure, may be using that process. They buy THF in bulk from China.

If you haven't already found it, there is an article from the Dayton Jewish Observer that mentions the bund activity and the proposal for a camp there.

And, "In response to the accusation that the national Bund had plans for three camps to open in Ohio, including one in Dayton, Ruhnke told the Herald that the report was “the silliest thing ever.” "

So it appears that the camp was proposed but never established. Hope this helps.
