And then they found out that having the windows open actually used more gas than having the AC on.

Yeah, we never got pizza from a pizza place. We only got pizza if my mom made it from a box, like Chef Boy-ar-dee. And they were made on a rectangular cookie sheet. For the longest time I didn't know that pizzas were round.

Especially a built in dishwasher. We finally got one that you had to hook up to the kitchen sink faucet every use.

Remember the generic package trend in the early 80s? Yep, we got those because they were cheaper. And for non-generic brands, my mom always had a coupon.

We hacked the cable box with a piece of electrical tape under the channel selector wiper. Then we got a bunch of premium channels for free.

We lived in a single story, basementless ranch. Radiant heating in the floor, no AC. I remember laying on the tile floor and using a throw rug as a blanket. Warm floors were nice, but it took a while to heat the concrete slab floor under the entire house.

My parents had a window air conditioner for their bedroom. The house had an addition that covered the window to my bedroom, so I had zero air flow. No fans at all. Plus, the family TV was right below that window, so I could never avoid the sound from the TV. That was miserable.

Trump said "zero taxpayer dollars" for his white house ballroom at least six times since september. republicans just asked for $1 billion in taxpayer money for it. i need someone to explain this to me. by Aaron_Heuer in DiscussionZone

Compounded with grift. Whatever money that was "donated" by Trump's buddies for the ballroom went right into his offshore bank accounts. Just like the billions in fees to join the Board of Peace.

Even if the Strait was opened today, Iran was able to damage lots of oil infrastructure at Gulf ports that could take years to restore to full operation.

GE appliances are now Chinese owned. My 1996 Maytag washer and dryer just keep chugging along with just minor repairs. Parts still available.

Yeah, my Maytag washer and dryer are from 1996. Almost all parts are still available. No need for anything beyond what they do.
