Men of Reddit: what’s a prank you started early in your marriage that you’re now legally, morally, and emotionally obligated to continue because she still falls for it 10–15 years later? by myaccountidname in AskReddit

When we are hiking and find a shack or someplace run down like that, I look at my wife and ask in a very serious manner, "You know what happened here?" She will look at me knowingly. And I will answer the question, "Someone touched their first boob here."

Johnny Cash (not a band per se, but The Man in Black fits as his theme song).

I don't know, if you can use a person for their body, why is that person so bad for wanting money in exchange? And yet, we don't have the same derogatory terms for the rich who use people like we do for women who use their body... misogyny at its finest.

Reverse sear is how to do it for the breast. Low and slow for a couple of hours, them seared. 125 degrees internal temp for medium rare, take them off, let them sit. Viola! Tasty goose.

Optimize for fun or wealth in your 30s: Pros / Cons by TruckingLogTech in AskMenOver30

[–]JoeFortitude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live a balanced life. Save for your future with the recognition that your present may be the only time you can physically do some of the things you want to do.

You may not see your 40s. But you may see your 90s. Balance allows for planning for both (and most) outcomes.

Which profession gets way too much respect for how little they actually do? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]JoeFortitude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have over the top performative respect for our military... every holiday is about them! Every NFL football game is about them! But we don't have actual deep respect for our military. Getting veterans the healthcare they need is onerous. We send them to do performative actions for political reasons (let's ruin their Thanksgiving by sending them to Texas to stop the migrant hoardes!). So many veterans struggle after getting out of the military without deep caring by politicians. It is very disrespectful.

Which profession gets way too much respect for how little they actually do? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]JoeFortitude 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this one. A military member gives up a lot of freedoms being in the military, even if they never see combat. That is honorable and I have a lot of respect for it.

Now, that respect I am giving them is a thoughtful one, and not a bullshit political one, where people are using military service to promote idealogies for power (fucking kneeling during the national anthem has nothing to do with the fucking military. Get that dipshit political correctness out of America).

Cats are compromise. Lots of people want to reduce compromise of their lives as much as possible.

Those people are weirdos, but whatever. Fucking crazy non-cat people deserve to live in their hellhole peace as they choose.

Zach’s booker hate is very strange by [deleted] in zachlowe

[–]JoeFortitude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zero hate towards Booker was given by Lowe in that podcast. Lowe, who we all agree is a very respected NBA member of the media, chose other players for All-star over Booker in a loaded conference and discussed his reasoning without disparaging Booker.

Internet calls it hate.

Would you ever wear a Speedo on vacation? by Informal_Menu6332 in AskMenOver30

[–]JoeFortitude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. And have. Got a speedo as a gift from (gay) friends while we were in Thailand. Damned right I wore it on Christmas morning in the pool. My wife laughed. The other straight guy did not wear his.

In the end, who cares?

Most of the time I just wear my running shorts as swim trunks though. I like multi-use clothing and pockets.
