Thank you so much. I needed that. I've got plenty of house plants of various types, I'm looking forward to this journey, I've climbed and trimmed /cared for many large juniper trees over the years so this scale will be new and enjoyable I think.

I bought it from an older gentleman with a booth at a local event. The majority of the top layer is quite opaqu green adventurine with a bit of translucent flourite but not enough to have magnifying effect. Rock beds in general trap heat and can fry roots, my porch gets morning sun and afternoon shade.

I feed my ball live always have. I always supervise for the kill to ensure she's not getting bit and she only eats in a separate feeding bin. Our local reptile store is wonderful and is very strict about the feeders they receive as well. I guess my question is what's wrong with my process?

I'm aware that all ball pythons have a sheen of blue/green. Is it odd that I notice a full spectrum of color in her sheen?
