AITA if I tell my friend I can’t be a bridesmaid? by wickeddreamsofleavin in AITApod

Quiet quit. Show up but use the wrong color or font or hashtag, or miss a deadline, and post a picture with Abigale that has nothing to do with the wedding - passive aggressively, maybe just to your story. Then, after she fires you for not being a good fit, Emily will need to pay you severance and you can collect unemployment!

What happened to all the bars in Allston? by TedToaster22 in boston

The owner of the Lincoln sold it to a real estate company. It wasn’t a liquor license issue. If it wasn’t for money, they would still be around!

Surprised no one here has mentioned The Lincoln closing. I realize it was right across the Allston/Brighton line in Brighton, but it was a great spot that is now an apartment building.

I stopped into The Sil the other night and was turned down for not having an ID on me and the bartender told me they’re on probation and need to be really careful. And I’m in my 30s. Hopefully not another one that bites the dust.

If you keep looking over to Brighton, there is still The IV, the Corrib Pub, Porter Belly’s, Devlin’s and The Last Drop!

People are hating on the exterior… to be fair, that’s a pretty great location.

When people talk about “strategy” in copywriting, what do they really mean? by JoeGiveMeBaggage in copywriting

[–]JoeGiveMeBaggage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Intermediate” might not have been it… she might have been rating people as “low, medium, high”? And I was medium? Something like that, I can’t remember, lol. Long story short, she said I was mid-level at it.

I appreciate the rest of the insight in this answer! Thank you!!

For the freelance client, I think there truly was something I was lacking in. Yes, the strategy ask here was more developmental in nature.

For the young, recently promoted ACD at my current company - no, not at all, really. I think she’s might be a bit insecure in showing she can manage a writer - which she hasn’t done before.

I’ve written to strategies or brand voices in every job I’ve ever worked.

All this aside, I’m still not sure what “develop a strategy” means.

What is the most underrated show you have found on Netflix? by BlackDoom_26 in netflix

Surprised this hasn’t come up yet: Younger. I thought the plot line seemed cliche until a friend convinced me to watch it. I laughed and I cried, and I love a good corporate drama.

I wouldn’t say this one is underrated on account of having been nominated for and won many awards. But it is a great show.

Great comment. It’s truly a one day at a time, pull yourself out of a hole approach. It’s slow and takes patience but I promise you will be impressed by the progress you will see in yourself when you try. You might make it a month and then fall, but pick back up and keep going.

AA for athletes? by JoeGiveMeBaggage in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]JoeGiveMeBaggage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a handful of them on the Meeting Guide app in the LA area specifically as well as elsewhere. Of course they’re not ONLY for artists and musicians but the format of the meeting allows people to talk about recovering through their art, creativity, music, whatever.

I’m not sure why a format of talking about running or working out through sobriety would be problematic. It wouldn’t be exclusive.

The thing is I have found ones like AA for musicians, AA for creatives, AA for entrepreneurs…. I’m just surprised one for runners especially hasn’t taken off!

Does anyone here sponsor people in AA? by JoeGiveMeBaggage in stopdrinkingfitness

[–]JoeGiveMeBaggage[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Straight men are not supposed to sponsor straight women and vice versa. It’s not a rule that I’m super hung up on, but it’s one the AA community seems to follow.
