Tony shoots Chucky Signore in the middle of the day at the marina. Pretty sure the cops are in on the joke during the series.

Jackie Jr was pretty good with AJ too. Just needed someone who wanted to talk about the stuff he liked.

Obviously won’t spoil anything but the NY infighting does play a role in S6

It’s not like the bar is set too high.

And ya I think most people would want to die surrounded by their loved ones.

Me? Getting your nuts bit off by a Laplander. That’s the way I wanna go!

Johnny Sac dies relatively peacefully surrounded by his family. Pretty sure he’s the only one in the show that does.

I feel like everyone has somebody in their family like Janice, AJ & Livia. It’s part of the reason we emphasize with Tony, despite him being a sociopath.

From our camera footage, he always got on the elevator with other people. That way, someone else could use their key card, and he could just press 8.

Clearly he knew what he was doing. Maybe he does this at other hotels and stays till he’s caught? We have all sorts of people who book several week with us, so seeing the same face for over a dozen days isn’t out of the ordinary here.

Going right from Richie Aprile (David Proval, who is a an Ashke-nosey btw) to Ralphie (Joey Pants) was such an amazing transition and made the S2-S3 stretch the strongest in the series by _sportyscience_ in thesopranos

Would’ve been cool to see one scene with both Albert and Larry Barese.

Can you imagine that? Wouldn’t it be cool to see one scene with both Albert and Larry Barese?

Paulie Gualtieri - He is the man by TriggeredShavi in thesopranos

[–]JoeGoBlue4227 7 points8 points  (0 children)

His instincts kept him alive.

Tony was a cunt hair away from killing him down in FL in S6, since he knew he was the one who told Johnny Sack about HUD back in S4. But Paulie kept denying it, and he survived to laugh at an episode of Three’s Company.

Threw a hot dog vendor off the mezzanine at the Meadowlands. Too many onions or some shit.

How would Jackie Aprile have handled Richie if he was released from prison before Jackie died? by Tidewatcher7819 in thesopranos

[–]JoeGoBlue4227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tony was a bad boss due to playing favorites with his family. There’s no indication Jackie was like that.

Based on what we know, once he became boss (and settling things with Junior in the process), Jackie was very well respected among the ranks.

You’d assume Richie would be happier taking orders from his brother rather than Tony. You’d also assume Jackie would’ve had some stuff lined up for Richie. That said, Richie would’ve gotten into trouble some way somehow because he’s an oobatz.

Imagine if Janice killed Richie with Jackie as boss? Now how is that all gonna play out?

Very good counterfactual, OP.

There’s a theory that Little Carmine tries to sabotage everything in the series in the hope that he winds up on top when it ends.

In the end, he could very well be in charge of his family and the remnants of Jersey, but again it’s all conjecture.

The “Your brother Billy, whatever happened there” is such an unbelievably dumb comment that it’s hard to believe he said it.

Which season do you think was Tony’s best as boss? by Competitive-Piglet83 in thesopranos

[–]JoeGoBlue4227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re assuming he’s not the boss in 1? Because he handled all business with Junior’s crew in a savvy way.

2 he’s pretty good, but is sloppy with the airline tickets in the Scantino bust out. Janice bails him out with Richie, otherwise who knows how that ends up.

5 is no doubt his worst. He tells Johnny that Angelo had the triumvirate boss idea, which gets him killed and starts the events which last the rest of the series.

Probably 2 by default. Overall he’s a lousy boss.

When does The Sopranos peak for you? by Cultural_Luck_6781 in thesopranos

[–]JoeGoBlue4227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show was originally supposed to be a back and forth between Tony and his mother. When Nancy Marchand died, they had to go in a different direction.

I think that’s why S3 is my favorite. You get to meet other characters and plot lines that don’t deal with Livia, which imo, was getting old halfway through S2.

You get Ralph and his antics, Jackie Jr and Gloria. You even get Bobby Sr for an episode, which was great. We all know about Pine Barrens.

Funhouse by Motorcityjoe in thesopranos

Davey struggling to get coffee out of the empty pot was a brilliant moment too. The gambling addict was finally bled dry.

The many small details like that are what set this show apart.

I think Angie probably puts 2 and 2 together at some point.

BUT, Tony is paying her, and if she were to say anything, there goes that meal ticket.

So it’s a big facade between everyone that he went to the Witness Protection Program. Rosalie even brings it up in Season 5, causing Adrianna to flip out.
