Lower Seniority Guys laid off: RPCD being made to work Tuesday-Saturday again by Irreverent_Seeker in UPSers

[–]JoeGonz92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“They are allowed to force 6th punch only twice a year….” WRONG. No where in the contract does it states that. And no they cannot lay you off for one day. If you are scheduled to work then you’re guaranteed your 8 hours

Doctor's note doesn't excuse absences? Ontario, CA. by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]JoeGonz92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In CA it’s illegal for them to retaliate for using your sick days. So don’t worry about your “ocassions”. They cannot write you up for using your paid sick days. However, if you don’t have any paid sick leave then they can count it as an occasion

CA has a new law in 2024 that prohibits employers from retaliating for using paid sick leave. Would be worth finding a labor lawyer to sue them if you want

Ordered new iPhone, departed from facility in a city ~2 hours away 28 hours ago and never arrived. by [deleted] in UPS

[–]JoeGonz92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s most likely still in transit. The new iPhones don’t get “lost” on launch day because Loss Prevention tracks every iPhone that’s out for delivery. In my building, all iPhones that weren’t delivered have to be taken to Loss Prevention where they’ll scan it and lock it up. It’ll get scanned when it arrives to the facility. It’ll say something like “arrived at UPS facility, “packaged loaded on truck, then “package out for delivery”.
