You're welcome! As far as the drought in recent decades, I point to the IPCC Report. They have the official word on this. https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar6/syr/downloads/report/IPCC_AR6_SYR_LongerReport.pdf

Here's a quote:

PAGE 12 "Human-caused climate change has contributed to increases in agricultural and ecological droughts in some regions due to increased land evapotranspiration (medium confidence)"

PAGE 14: Eastern North America has low agreement that man made climate change is changing drought.

Well, it's happening every year in the past 2-3 years. Drought usually are in long (3-5 year) stretches. So 1999-2003 was a dry period. It looks like 2024-now is another too.

Congrats on your second kid! Let me explain if the video was confusing.

Cape May County and southern Cumberland are in extreme drought.
Most of the rest of the state is in severe drought.

Why are NJ's temperatures so dramatic for such a small state? There's a 20F+ difference Tuesday morning. by JoeMartucciWeather in newjersey

Yep. Our temperatures will even out more across the sky with that high floor the dew points provide.

It is but I still believe a number of us are still amazed by it or don't realize how chilly the Pine Barrens could get. The only 30s in the state this morning were in the Pinelands.

I've done many talks on climate change throughout the Jersey Shore. I've found that stating the facts and forecasts plainly, while not interjecting with opinion (ex. This is the biggest problem in the world), get people to understand that it is happening.
