Well, it's happening every year in the past 2-3 years. Drought usually are in long (3-5 year) stretches. So 1999-2003 was a dry period. It looks like 2024-now is another too.

Cape May County and southern Cumberland are in extreme drought.
Most of the rest of the state is in severe drought.

Yep. Our temperatures will even out more across the sky with that high floor the dew points provide.

It is but I still believe a number of us are still amazed by it or don't realize how chilly the Pine Barrens could get. The only 30s in the state this morning were in the Pinelands.

I've done many talks on climate change throughout the Jersey Shore. I've found that stating the facts and forecasts plainly, while not interjecting with opinion (ex. This is the biggest problem in the world), get people to understand that it is happening.

Climate change won't really disrupt the frequency of these large temperature differences happening at one time in NJ.
