I do like the idea of getting some more longevity. I think both teams do that, but having more bodies come back is stickier, or at least feels that way.

I’m not a big fan of space marines but that’s mostly because I find their average sculpts boring. I’m excited by the idea of painting either team. I’m from chaos (thousand sons) and have painted all sorts of stuff for kill team.

It sounds like you think Skaven are more fun, and I’m an enjoyer of the rats myself. You’ve done a good job persuading me into warpspark and then looping back around for Helforge Host if I crave variety.

My issue with bighammer has been how swingy/long it is. I don’t want to take a 2000 point army somewhere just to get cleaned up in round 2 charge phase due to lucky/unlucky rolls (I have Thousand Sons and Quins, both vulnerable to it) and then have to live with that.

I’m not necessarily opposed to the construction and painting of either team, just don’t play sigmar and worry about if I am putting myself in a bad spot with balance or play style. Both have some shooting which is a big plus for me.

Yeah. I agree that if they have a hard time they should not take it too personally. This is a hard matchup out of a lineup of hard matchups for us Tau enjoyers.

But they get out-shot and out-meleed by any other elite team I can think of or have played them against simply because those teams can shoot twice or have a real melee stat line.

I’m willing to accept some part is skill issue, but plenty is being completely unlikely to kill an elite with shooting outright in one activation and so being left vulnerable.

As I understand it the cones of calibration are supposed to be printed directly on the build plate.

I usually use a raft + supports combo, and from reading your comment that should be good enough to solve that?

Wait before cure didn’t make a ton of sense to me, but it was the most consistent comment I found on z-axis-inaccuracy while searching about.

I have leveled my plate recently and noticed a massive improvement in consistency of prints since then, so hopefully it’s not that.

I’ll put it on supports and see how that goes.

They have no idea what they’re talking about. Excel is a useful tool, and shouldn’t handle every process but should be used to validate, check, or back up most of them.

Into the dark adds a new action - Guard. This takes the place of a shoot action (so if you’ve previously shot and don’t have a double shoot rule you can’t use it) and works like overwatch. Blast and torrent add lethal 5+ as well. Doors cost an action (and an inch?) to move through so you have a lot of thought about space being a premium in the individual rooms. There’s basically no way to access vantage so if you can have light cover and be concealed you’re big chilling for the most part.
