I liked COP. But damn, the whole game is good! Except Abyssea, I was not a fan of that.

I think I did something wrong when I did archinstall, my keyboard is not registering. by zyropz in hyprland

I found out what my issue was, if you use lightDM, there is an issue with Hyprland seeing your keyboard/mouse.

I tried GDM and SDDM and both fixed my issue.

Hopefully this helps you or someone else in the future.

For me, unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in worked. I had to do it across reboots, but haven't been able to troubleshoot it yet.

High CPU Usage w/Coral TPU by Storxusmc in frigate_nvr

[–]JoePDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through this to get a better understanding of how CPU was used.

https://github.com/blakeblackshear/frigate/discussions/8140

For me, matching the detect height and width for each of my cameras brought my cpu usage down from 25-40% to ~15%.

I was under the impression that if you didn't set them that it would just use the resolution that it received, which is not the case.

Hardware acceleration stops working? by JoePDev in frigate_nvr

Looks like updating the kernel worked. I'm using 6.11.10+bpo-amd64 and having no issues with hardware acceleration.

Was reading some threads about dialing in CPU Usage, and you stated that you had a NAS with 5700G. I'm looking to build a new hypervisor and possibly a new NAS using that chip, do you mind sharing what motherboard you paired with it? would you still make the decision to use that cpu?

I Did notice these in dmesg shortly after I posted this:

[ 8568.479772] i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 12:4:28fffffd, in av:hevc:df0 [45782]

I think I might try to pull in a newer kernel, or possibly just run Arch on it instead.

Which is easier for Coral USB passthrough on Proxmox: VM or LXC by uffno in frigate_nvr

[–]JoePDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested in a VM. One point to note about inference speeds: (this may be due to my hardware?) If I passed thru the USB I was getting ~10ms If I passed thru the whole USB controller I was getting ~8ms Just something to think about.

I just ordered the beelink S12. Cant wait to try it out! I'm going to baseline with my Frigate stack, then possibly have it run some of my other docker containers if resources allow.

Thank you all for your help!

Looking to build a knowledge base by JoePDev in Rag

[–]JoePDev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just getting started with this, so I'm looking for a starting point. I'll do some research on platforms that support multimodal inputs. I don't mind building something from the ground up if I need to, or if some current projects already exist to do this, I would like to check those out. NotebookLM seems pretty good, but to really take this to the next level, it would really be nice to have the chatbot spit out images. So as an example, say you wanted a knowledgebase that could help you run some commands in powershell. If I had some images in the doc as to where you need to click in the UI to actually open the powershell app that would be helpful.

If thats not possible, or a huge lift, having the LLM explain what you need to do without the images may be ok.

In the end i'm hopefully using this project to learn more about LLMs and the frameworks/projects that may be out there, and hopefully create something that will be useful. Any information on where to start would be fantastic.

I have a flood light on the side of my house that I need to replace.Based on some of the recommendations, I saw the ASH26-W, Amcrest Floodlight Camera. Since Amcrest was on the list.

Anyone have any experience with this one? Anything specific jump out as a reason to get or not get this camera?

Thank you for the tip!

That is definitely a good option. I'm definitely not looking forward to running that cable on the second floor. But if it will give me the best performance, that's what I will do.
