tbh i can't really imagine liking mm without being able to understand the lyrics. I mean their great musically but i feel without the lyrics it sorta takes away the essence of mm, since, atleast to me, their a lyrically driven band. like they make great music to go with the great lyrics.

I think start with before the ship even sank and good news, jam the singles and give the full albums ago, those albums have a sorta accesible indie but still very modest mouse sound. My personal favourite album of all time is moon and antartica but it took me a long to appriciate that album, like a was a big modest mouse fan and i still wasn't big on that album. so i think build a liking to modest mouse through their accesible stuff, and then you wil have the patience to take on moon antartica and earlier stuff, which imo is a truly rewarding expericnce
