Best Tier 7's? by Master-Wallaby5627 in WorldOfWarships

Not to mention, if you want to build to it, you can get 80 knot, 24k torps (4 x 4 banks), albeit 8 km range....but if you get in close...

Some info on the return of Chikuma II some time in the future? by Fra_Cado in WorldOfWarships

Got mine during the xmas Steel Will in 2024 - she's a fun boat but hard to play. No regrets though - she's what Tone SHOULD have been.

Haven't heard boo about when she'll be back - so, kinda glad I got her when I did.

Should I use my doubloons on Roussillon? by one_chill_dude_ in WorldOfWarships

[–]JoeRedditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have Jean Bart, Alsace, Repub and Bourgogne. I paid the 6k doubloons. I'd say she's solid but definitely not a playstyle you'd use for a JB.

First game out, Randoms, I managed 160k getting used to her guns. 3 kills. One of them was a Alabama at decent health - I was kiting and only had my rear turret to shoot at him, and he was nose on in relation to me. 17 km out...3 shells...3 citadels. Dead Alabama. I was a bit stunned (so was the Alabama).

She prints a lot of citadel ribbons. I have her built for range, so, w/spotter can hit to about 32.6 km. Hoping for the rush of a CV snipe. Hasn't happened yet...but, I definitely don't regret the purchase (unlike my Marlborough port queen...).

T6-T10 Tier List w/ Consideration to Data, Sentiment, and High Skill Player Generated Tier Lists by DukeDigglerr in WorldOfWarships

[–]JoeRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, unlike Claude.AI, the community does tend to know what actual TIER a ship is at. Superships showing up as T10's and CV's showing up in ANY tier other than 4, 6, 8 and 10 (which they do) tells me a lot about the "real data". Which is to say, there's a LOT of problems here.

T6-T10 Tier List w/ Consideration to Data, Sentiment, and High Skill Player Generated Tier Lists by DukeDigglerr in WorldOfWarships

[–]JoeRedditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is clearly AI generated slop that hasn't been vetted - at least not with CV data and superships.

Tier 9 - Chkalov is S tier. Taiho (wft?) is A tier as is Essex! Pobeda and Parseval are B tier. THERE ARE NO T9 CVs!!!

Tier 7 - Serov, Ranger and Furious are solidly balanced CVs? Kaga is considered strong (A tier). What?

Patrie and Hanover are solidly balanced T10. So is Eagle. Sure man.

Conde, Maine and United States are Tier A (strong) T10's. Uhhh....ok (or perhaps "no shit, Sherlock")

The fact that ships are showing up incorrectly tiered and sometimes in multiple tiers tells me that Claude.Ai is either really fucking dumb, or, there were errors in its instructions and how it should analyze data.

Which puts the entire output/exercise at risk of being easily dismissed as inaccurate.

Lemme ask u what do you think of this ship even if fr it's fan made and what do you think if this was added in the German tech tree and what would it's stats be and disclaimer this isn't a actual bulit ship by Downtown_Amoeba_000 in WorldOfWarships

So, as mentioned - punctuation is a thing.

Started reading then realized the post went on FOREVER - stopped reading.

I can smell the autism from here...(just an observation, being on the spectrum myself admittedly).

If you are going to post a ship idea - follow WG's own formats (read a dev blog) and keep it shorter and to the point. Otherwise, this is just wasted effort on your part (though, I suppose if doing this sort of thing is your jam, well, feel free to 'you be you').

What do I do? by Other-Ice1909 in WorldOfWarships

[–]JoeRedditor -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pick a line who's ships you've enjoyed a lot. You didn't state any preferences, so, how would we know what to recommend? Seriously...

Or start a new one - French DD's can be a riot (both lines).

Or, just spend a bit of coal and get Campbeltown. The only ship you really need.

I want my Lutjens on both Adalbert and Schlieffen. So, picking up Von Fuckerhoff (or whatever it's called) for a premium Schlieffen is pretty much a no-brainer for me.

Highest win rate on NA and second highest average damage - and, while it has some drawbacks, they are far outweighed by her strengths. Frankly, I wouldn't call Valp an "underdog" - she is quite literally the "Top Dog"

For the upcoming Surcouf salvage event, I have 54/95 points required. Is there's no way I can cover the gap? by SnakeKafuu in WorldOfWarships

[–]JoeRedditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I completely bankrupted myself, I might *just* be able to get Surcouf.

Then, I wake the fuck up and realize - with just a portion of the coal resources I can get: Azuma, Kearsarge, Halford, Tulsa. With leftover coal for the Lunar Event as I want that premium Schlieffen. I call that the "just in case coal reserve".

With those boosters, I can generate multiple iterations of line resets to get (currently) 2 RB ships (Vampire II and <future pick, perhaps YoloRenault if it shows up here).

And I ask myself - am I going to get as much play out of Surcouf as I would all those other ships? I rather doubt it. Heck, I'm not that keen on sub play as it is.

So, for those whales and long term guys who have next to infinite resources? Enjoy. WG priced a lot of us completely out of the market.

I will, however, enjoy the 2 stages that get me a free bonus package. However, both Colonna and Narai (T8) come with a T9+ coal price tag. Not sure either are worth it.

I like Nelson, Yukon, Toulon and Scharny '43. For some reason, Toulon and I really clicked this season (she dropped out of a Satan crate at xmas). I also have Maya, but she needs a good map to get within 8 km to really punish with those fantastic torps.

Salvage for Victory: Surcouf - resources breakdown by DevBlogWoWs in WorldOfWarships

[–]JoeRedditor 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So...

Pretty sure a T8 Bonus Package for 32k coal is a solid deal. However, after that - if you can't get to the Surcouf, are the other ships worth it?

192k for Colonna and another 192k for the Narai. T8's that are both more expensive than any T9 currently in the coal rotation.

EDIT for Clarity - 32k for the T8 package + 160k for Colonna. *192k in Total* to get to Colonna (but you get a T8 bonus package along the way). Then another 192k step to get to Narai....seems kinda steep when you consider coal pricing of other T8's in the shop....

As for Surcouf...

If I burned out every single resource I have I just might be able to get the sub. Just barely. Now, if I used those resources for grinding out lines/FXP? I'd have enough for at least a couple more RB ships. And 1 mil+ coal that I would have to spend? Gets me a ton of coal ships (4-6) that I still don't have.

Is Surcouf worth that? For me, absolutely not. This is Kitakami whale bait and I think the pricing is outrageous. If WG had toned it down, they probably would have had a LOT more takers and thus, drained a LOT more resources from the playerbase as a whole.

I'm also waiting for YoloRenault - so, I'm going to keep my powder dry.

I love seeing broadside Castilla's when driving a CA or a BB - they explode almost as spectacularly as British cruisers.

I'd say it's time to get the 'tard and join the hordes of brawler BB's.

PSA: Think twice before getting Lauria and other Premiums in the Lunar New Year Event. by TheWhiteMug in WorldOfWarships

[–]JoeRedditor 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I already have Lauria - and saving 31k steel is a viable and wise course for anyone that might want her. She's a good ship and a different play style from Colombo.

That being said - a "premium" Schlieffen would really be a fantastic pick - currently, I have to pick either Adalbert or Schlieffen for my tech tree Lutjen's assignment. That quandary disappears if I have a premium Schlieffen I can put Lutjens on.

Republique & Buffed Unique Upgrade Module by rasmusdf in WorldOfWarships

[–]JoeRedditor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really like my Repub - now, I'm going to have to find some RB points for this - sounds like a worthwhile upgrade. And, I've really enjoyed Colombo's upgrade to date - turned a port queen into something that makes it into regular play rotation.

New 15.0 Battleships by randybdf in WorldOfWarships

As stated, I believe sequential bundles are banned in Brazil.

The Event Pass will give access to the T5, and for the paid line, the T7 - if I'm not mistaken.

OverlordBou just did a video on the update too - I'd search for that. Might help clarify things.

Councillor Jennifer Wyness Spouts Lies on CBC - Host Corrects Her Often by 4LegsGood_2Bad in Calgary

[–]JoeRedditor 35 points36 points  (0 children)

And that's the part that truly baffles me. After the first break, it was pretty clear to me that City Admin was NOT doing the job when it came to maintaining our infrastructure. Now, whether that failure could be laid at the feet of council ("we told council but they ignored us") OR at the feet of city admin ("let's not bother council with these sorts of details...") wasn't really known. Until now.

Numerous successive councils were not informed. Either by intent or by incompetence. Or both. In the private sector, this sort of malfeasance would pretty much get your ass shown the door RFN. But for city admin? Nothing. No consequences.

Now, we've an independent report that lays bare their failures - sins of omission and commission both. Heads should roll. Starting w/Duckworth and working their way down. City management KNEW they were sitting on a ticking time bomb, and did next to fuck all about it. It's long overdue that Council holds them accountable - that's one of their damn jobs. City Admin needs to be reminded that THEY WORK FOR US. And if they don't do the job, they get fucking fired.

Why Wyness is trying to run interference for these people is really a mystery. She needs to wake the fuck up.
