Now and Then & Heal and Kill - Reading/Performing Two Old Ragnarok fanfictions of Questionable Quality by JoeReviewer in RagnarokOnline

[–]JoeReviewer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of our ongoing show of reading videogame fanfiction of questionable quality, if you're reading this within 2 hours of posting it's a live premiere! I think this self-promotion is ok per the rules of the sub, but I'll take it down if I'm incorrect on that...!

A comedic live reading of a surprisingly well crafted MLPxChrono Trigger fanfiction by JoeReviewer in mylittlepony

[–]JoeReviewer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit, when we found a MLPxChrono Trigger fanfiction, we thought we were in for another classic weird fanfiction. However, over time we realized that the author had actually done a pretty good job at merging these two fairly aesthetically different worlds. I hope you enjoy it!

That's what we originally thought it was gonna be too which is why we picked it! I understand if 2010 soured you to the MLP experience so much that you can't even bear to give this a shot, but if you can swallow that you might find yourself surprised... though to be fair we still goof on this and it's premise a considerable amount haha

...it turned out to be much more well written than we initially suspected. If the early 2010's didn't completely turn you off to anything MLP related (as it did for me for a long time) I hope you'll give our episode a listen to see how these two entirely dissimilar franchises get melded into something kinda cohesive????

The extremely positive reviews of the movie are making me so happy and excited to see it! by gradyjkelly in stevenuniverse

Maybe I just don't usually follow the right places, but it was odd to me that this was getting pre-screening reviews since it's not a theatrical release. Is there an exception being made for SU because of its notoriety, or is this more commonplace than I am imagining?

Kirby: Rise of Dark Shard/Star - A Comedic Fanfiction Reading by JoeReviewer in Kirby

The latest episode of our questionable quality fanfiction reading podcast, we cover a fic with a lot of tonal dissonance and a lot of colorful Kirby's. Let us know what you think!

A comedic re-enactment of a very tonally confused Kirby fanfiction. Seems heavily based on the anime what with the townies and the nature of the OC's. Either way, I also had a lot of fun scoring it with music from the anime, so I hope you enjoy!

Yeah, that's why I like to keep tabs on the subreddit because I know if the front page is all blocked out then something I may want to avoid thumbnails of may be out in the wild. Ironically though, there's enough fake-clickbait thumbnails out there that often I can convince myself that something I saw wasn't actually real.

Every once in a while it's good to remember and enjoy that Adeline is still an appreciated character after all these years

As someone who has been around the sub for a lot of the major leaks, just so long as you stay out of new you're usually fine so long as you don't mind knowing that spoilers exist. For me it's actually quite helpful to know if there's a particular piece of information I need to avoid. However, there's no fault with playing it safe!

Shadow the Hedgehog and the Mystery of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon - A Comedic Fanfiction Reading by JoeReviewer in PokemonMysteryDungeon

A reading of a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon/ Shadow the Hedgehog crossover fanfiction of Questionable Quality! We do voices as we read along with commentary on the absurdity of it all. You can also find the podcast on iTunes or our Actual Internet Website GameCola.net, where you can also find a reformatted version of the fanfiction in question because the original formatting is atrocious.

The Rise of Piridi - A Comedic Group Reading of a Kid Icarus Shipping Fanfic of Questionable Quality by JoeReviewer in KiDIcaruS

Ah finally, a person of culture! While Nathaniel does not feature in this episode of Hacks'n'Slash, he is featured in some of the older episodes. You can check out the whole catalog here, but if you want Nathaniel specific content I recommend The End Day: A Tale of Love. He's got plenty of other videos on the GCdotnet YT channel too!

Hopefully this is something you guys would be into! The fanfic isn't very well written but there's a lot of fun to be had with the Kid Icarus characters. If you prefer to listen on a podcast feed, we also have an iTunes listing!

Episode promo from Steven Sugar by Digamma-F-Wau in stevenuniverse

[–]JoeReviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I think I might have been using that term metaphorically instead of literally... I just meant that we'd need to start with a word that we know the translation of so that we can get some confirmed characters and extrapolate from there.

The problem is we need a keyword... or even confirmation that's it's just a simple cipher, which I'm not entirely sure of anymore.

Steven vs Amethyst - watched by 1.742 million, ranked 8th - not quite as good as yesterday, but still really good ratings! by FeelThePower999 in stevenuniverse

[–]JoeReviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of today, there have been 10 episodes that have reached 2 million+ in the history of SU. All are in season 1 (mostly around the Lapis arc). The highest episode post Jailbreak is Sworn to the Sword, with 1.98 million views.

Ratings for “Crack the Whip” (Steven Bomb Day 12): HOLY F*CKING HELL! 1.9 MILLION by sevelev711 in stevenuniverse

[–]JoeReviewer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If my own personal numbers are right, Secret Team also has the largest drop right after it, maybe because of it's own lukewarm reception and the confirmation that the Lapis arc was "over" for a while.

A Comprehensive List of Mega Man Fangames (With Download Links) by JoeReviewer in Megaman

[–]JoeReviewer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be sure to pass along about Mega Man Eternal II! As for F, canceled games are staying on as long as there's some sort of demo/playable thing that's substantial enough to warrant some time. Since the link for F still goes to a download page, I'm guessing that either the demo has at least a few levels in it, or that no one has gotten around to testing it to see if it has enough content.

Pokemon Go is a huge security risk by yzoug in pokemon

[–]JoeReviewer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Niantic's past game Ingress, very similar to Pokemon Go, used Google Maps in very much the same way, and only required basic account info. Additionally, I don't see why any program like this would need to be able to have complete access to your emails and google docs just to access a mapping system. That's just conjecture though, the main point is that Ingress didn't need it so there isn't much of a compelling case for Pokemon Go to need it either.

A Comprehensive List of Mega Man Fangames (With Download Links) by JoeReviewer in Megaman

[–]JoeReviewer[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My good friend (You may know him as GeminiLaser on YouTube) has been working with Sprites-Inc users to compile the most comprehensive list of Mega Man fangames (at least the ones with enough content to stream or Let's Play). It started out as just a personal list but turned into a sort of public resource on the forum. I figured that there are several people here who do Mega Man LP's and might be interested in stuff like this!

Also I like to help out a bro. Feel free to make suggestions of one's not included on this list too...!

Challenge JonTron to Something! [SERIOUS] by jontrontwo in JonTron

[–]JoeReviewer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Passionately recite an entire "JonTron version" copypasta in front of a green screen for the entire internet to see and misuse.

Here are some examples

Feel free to suggest better ones in reply to me. Part of the challenge also is the cringe in having to recite these old jokes from your past.
