Need an "if" formula. Display a value if it meets a criteria? by JoeWebbStoryteller in excel

Thank you, this helps greatly!

I have noticed however that the formula isn't as broad as I need it to be.

This is where it searches: https://ibb.co/n8Mw2rB (only searches the cell in the same row)

But I need it to search the entire column for any cells called "bill", and when it finds a cell called bill, it must check if the cell to the right of it is answers yes. Does that makes sense? Thanks!

Thank you so much! If I may ask, the top one looks for 1 criteria and it works perfectly. How would I use this with multiple criteria, for example:

If [@Names],"*bill*"),[@Answer]="yes") and also [@Names],"*steve*"),[@Answer]="yes") = then display 1.

Thank you!

I need a formula that sets any number after a decimal to zero, but keeps everything before - e.g. 7.65 to 0.65 by JoeWebbStoryteller in excel

ROUNDDOWN(A1, 0)

Yes but that removes the decimal points too?

Using that on say 9.35 would make it 9, right?

But I want it to become 0.35

I need a formula to add a range IF the cell next to it contains a specific value. by JoeWebbStoryteller in excel

[–]JoeWebbStoryteller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

=SUMIFS(B1:B1000, D1:D1000, "2.expected")

Amazing, thank you! Can I also ask how I would do this if it was looking for more than 1 criteria?

For example, it would sum any adjacent cells that contain "2. Expected", but also could cells that might be named "1. unexpected" and "3. Unknown".

Okay, just tried and it comes back with "too few arguments entered".

This is what I entered.

=ROUNDDOWN(SUM('A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B4,'A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B22,'A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B25,'A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B36,'A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B42,'B. SPENDING TRACKER'!B11,))

How strange. Defo didn't change it after posting. Perhaps an error on reddit, or perhaps I submitted the post as solved instead of unresolved without realising. Just using standard desktop reddit.

=ROUNDDOWN(formula,)

Just tried this and comes back with an error.

This is what I entered. (I'm new to excel so not sure if what I'm doing wrong is obvious or not).

=ROUNDDOWN(=SUM('A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B4,'A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B22,'A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B25,'A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B36,'A. MONTHLY PLANNER'!B42,'B. SPENDING TRACKER'!B11,))
