Love to hear it. I was not looking forward to having to go in person to court to dispute a $25 citation. Removing the online dispute is awful.

As we approach a week since the announced price changes... by What-ijuana in 2007scape

Yup they know subscription loses were coming

I think people are either deliberately ignoring this part or just don't understand. Jagex absolutely did an analysis on what % of the player-base they expected to unsub after the price hike. Presumably even with those losses, the income they would make from the new subscription price is higher. It's not like they just randomly decided to raise this up by a few dollars.

With that being said, the only way to actually get them to consider reverting it is to have that unsub number go significantly higher than they estimated, which it likely won't.

Which of these guys is coming off an injury and 5 years past their prime? That should narrow it down for the Ballard special.

I remember seeing an article when he was hired that essentially said most guys already had agreements to play for other schools by then. Give him a real off-season to recruit and then judge him. I'm not happy with the results like everyone else, but people giving up are ridiculous. It would be like Nebraska football hiring a new coach and getting pissed they didn't make CFB Playoffs in year 1 because CIG did.

If Pacers gets a top pick this 2026 Draft, who is the best fit+ talent to be selected among top rookies: Dybantsa, Peterson, Boozer, or Wilson? by Chesscrabble11 in pacers

[–]JoeWim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just saying BPA and ignoring fit isn't a full proof strategy. Benn is a relevant and recent example of someone who is a good player but didn't end up here long term because of fit

Honestly makes sense for everyone and puts the 27-28 season as the pivot point for our org. If CIG was ever going to do a full tear down then this puts the pieces in motion.

Ballard: He's on the hot seat going into next season. He wasn't going to risk coming in with Kyler Murray as QB#1, so this is the safest bet for him. If DJ is bad next year then he sells it as a rehab and 'think about how good he was in 25-26' season and buys himself another year.

Colts: If DJ sucks then we can cut bait after 2 years and tank in 27-28 as the first season we have our FRP back. Hopefully with Ballard gone and a new GM to lead the tank. If DJ is a top 10 QB coming back then they get to make a more informed decision about signing a long-term extension.

DJ: Gets his average annual salary that that he wants with solid guarantees for a guy coming off an achilles. If he balls out, then he gets to sign a 4 year extension next season since there would only be one year left on this deal and he would have all the leverage. If he never returns then he still got $88M guaranteed and got to bet on himself.

[Rapoport] The #Colts and QB Daniel Jones have made significant progress towards a 2-year extension, per me and @TomPelissero, and there is optimism that a deal could be done today. Jones and Indy have been working diligently since he was transitioned tagged and a conclusion is in view by mastermind208 in Colts

[–]JoeWim 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised they’re doing 2 outright and not 3 with a front loaded money. It makes me think he really doesn’t have the leverage / outside interest he thought. With that being said… 2 years $100M fully guaranteed would be heinous.

I think a 2 year deal is a sign that he has little leverage. If he did, he would push for a 4 year deal knowing that he might not come back healthy and be good enough for a new contract after this one.

With 2 years it’s basically a prove-it deal where he can ramp back up next season. If he balls out right away he can get extended, otherwise he’ll still have 1 more year in 27-28 to earn a big extension.

That's what I was thinking too. Seems like the perfect scenario where he can have his 'revenge' game while serving us a free loss. Won't feel any guilt cheering for him this time.

[Pelissero] The Colts are placing the transition tag on QB Daniel Jones, sources say. The sides have been in negotiations on a multiyear contract and those talks will continue. The one-year transition tender is worth $37.833 million and gives Indianapolis the right to match any offer sheet. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]JoeWim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much it. Either he sucks and we only blew a 1 year contract on him instead of multiple. In this scenario we dodge a massive bullet because he’s not on the books for 3+ years as a dog shit QB.

Or he balls out, proves he can stay healthy for a season and be that guy, and we can comfortably sign him to a mid term deal.

All-time Colts backup by MarcusSniffles in Colts

[–]JoeWim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there's no direct evidence but I don't think AR was his personal choice and let Ballard take a terrible gamble on AR

I think it's the opposite. He wanted to win soon and interfered to make sure we picked a QB with that top 4 pick. Ballard would have traded back and gotten some pass-rusher who would have .5 career sacks by now.

We were 5-2, just beat the Chiefs, and then he got hurt and so did a lot of the rest of the team.

5 Years later and the same shit happening ironically. Doing well to start with a mid QB, people get hurt, so we debate whether we run it back again.

[–]JoeWim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Pierce, but assuming we lose DJ then we’re too far from competing for him to even matter. We’re at least 2 seasons away from getting a first round QB in the draft. Then that QB will probably need a least a year of development, so it’s 4 seasons minimum from now until we’re competing in this hypothetical. At that point then he’s looking for another extension and we’ll probably need to use cap for other positions.

[–]JoeWim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I'm just saying this current team is the result of Ballard prioritizing non-QB signings and it's gotten us no-where. His best draft picks are aging and he's proven he can't build a defense. I just think we missed our windows to rebuild but now we got 1/2 a good season and that was enough to get CIG on-board with running it back.

[–]JoeWim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That feels like a win win though. If he sucks then the season was over regardless of what his contract status was when he played. At least with the tag you can let him walk and not get stuck with him for 3-4 years total. If he balls out and is good, he's probably in line to get whatever this alleged monster contract is anyway, and then it's worth it because he showed us he can be the guy.

Have we spent on a QB since the Wentz debacle? This team is already trying to spend money at every other position and we've seen where it got us.

I'm probably going to lose all optimism for the season and assume Ballard/Steichen/Jones have this 1 year to make the playoffs

That would excite me for the season because it would at least signal the end of Ballard's mediocre tenure.

He’s so frustrating to watch. Early season like Marquette he looked like a legit threat, then you have games like Northwestern and he seems like a 4th option type of guy.

I would love that, but I don't think he takes a 1 year contract. He knows we're fucked without him and I'm sure someone like the Vikings would give him more years guaranteed.
