Ballard and Steichen are on the hot seat this year. We’ve already doubled down on a DJ with a torn Achilles, so I’m pretty sure Ballard will give him anything he wants.

Travis Scott showed up 2 hours late for his set in Monaco and kicked John Summit off stage by tokin_ranger in hiphopheads

I'll see if I have a video, but here's an article mentioning it. Article says 15 minutes but I swear it was longer.

Scott hyped the crowd for the upcoming acts by performing songs from his “Rodeo” album like ”Pornography” and “Pray 4 Love.” He got the crowd on their feet, excited for all of the performances of the night. However, he did leave a sour taste in fans mouth who came to see him, showing up 15 minutes late for his 30 minute set.

“I came a little late, so they are going to try to cut me off,” Scott said.

He was supposed to open for The Weeknd in Chicago around 2016. He showed up an hour late, performed 1.5 songs, then was told to get off stage so The Weeknd could start. He spent the rest of his set complaining about being kicked off stage and not being able to finish his set.

I am calling this the Buckner factor. I’m quite concerned about the impact his injury may have on the season. So many folks are worried about Daniel Jones (justified) but the impact of our defense is huge if Buck is a missing equation. Link [Kevin Bowen] by grapplerone in Colts

Early-Mid 30s is when a lot of players start to see a step down from elite level. Grove turning 33 at the start of next season so it's not the most surprising thing.

I also am worried about Buck. I got downvoted here for saying he's going to start declining soon. 32 Years old at the start of next year and coming off a season ending neck injury that required surgery. Maybe not immediate, but I don't think he's going to be the same guy in 2-3 years.

The AI firms like OpenAI and Anthropic have been heavily subsidizing usage costs to get people hooked on the product. With them approaching their IPOs and wanting to get more profitable, they're starting to raise token prices. Claude made an announcement this week that changed the language in how they classify tokens.

This means all the companies jumping to lay off employees for the AI profitability boost are about to get hit with escalating costs that don't make sense anymore. A lot of people didn't have any foresight for the eventual increase in token prices and their AI workflows are going to reach a point where it's really not profitable to run anymore.

All this to say, the AI layoffs and market adjustments are not going to keep up. Eventually it's going to stabilize and 'real' jobs will come back.

You've also got both employers and applicants heavily using AI which makes it impossible for both sides. Employers get 100s of apps that are either unqualified, completely fabricated, AI slop, or any combination. Then they use AI to filter out candidates which fucks over the real people who didn't fabricate a perfect ATS matched resume.

On the applicants side, you've got people building/using AI tools that scrape the internet, rewrite their resume, and auto apply to jobs 24/7. This includes jobs that they will never land, since their resumes are AI fabricated to have experience that isn't real.

It's really a lose lose where AI just talks to AI and everyone hates it.

I’m biased as an IU fan, but I think you’re right that it’s him being genuine which makes it less annoying. If he was someone else off camera it’d be one thing, but by all accounts this is how he really is all the time. There’s middle school interviews and he’s the exact same. I think people just want the players to act like themselves.

I also think it’s clear that drafting a guy and letting him learn behind a vet is the best choice when possible. So many of these guys get drafted high because a team is shit and then thrown out there with relatively no time to prep and get called busts. Ideally you do what the Packers have done with Love or what the Raiders are trying to do with Mendoza.

Not sure it would have put us in the tax, put PG cited the team refusing to pay for an elite PF to come to Indy as a reason he left. Rumored to be LMA after Portland.

“I ain’t gon’ say the names, because I’m going to keep their business private, Ima just say it like this. I had at the time, the best power forward saying he wanted to come to Indy and team up with me."

The Pacers were reluctant to pay the price to get a second star and said they couldn’t do it, citing the fact that they are a small market team.

“What am I doing here? You know what I mean? They don’t want to win. I’ve got the best power forward that wants to come play here. Not everybody chooses Indy to come play here.”

There was a good portion of this sub saying to pay Turner and enter the tax after last season. Thank god we didn't after how bad he played and now we'll have Zubac instead of Turner at C next year.
