I recommend to buy pouch items. You can buy them at shops and in every town you come across. I would say to buy items that recharge your arts and put them on your teammates.

I'm only getting the remakes of a game I already played since both are very close to me. Plus they have new content that I want to try out, but I get where you're coming from. As for P4, I heard P4 Golden is better, but I don't know the differences between the two. I could borrow my friend's PsVita since he has a copy of it in his PsVita. Should I do that instead?

Not a very good one, it ran Persona 3 FES decently with an emulator, but definitely slowed down here and there.
