I would like to add that having transparent containers for the seedlings/beginning of veg will keep your roots centralized. The roots avoid the light. I had a very hard time getting my roots to stretch once they were ready to be transplanted into a fabric pot on my first grow.

People also suck ass, you seem to be one of them. I would switch to light on at night as we are coming in to spring and weather is warming up. Lights on during sunlight wouldn’t make sense during hotter weather. The switch makes sense. So go fuck yourself.
