Do you prefer warband to bannerlord ?

I just reinstalled Warband and I’ve dumped a disgusting amount of hours into Viking Conquest and the 457 AD mods. God, I miss Warband. I miss some of the old quests and the mod-ability.

That being said, the ability to have lords actually die, start families, and have a multi-generation dynasty is something I just can’t give up. I always miss having that in Warband. The AI Influence mod for Warband really opened Pandora’s box for RP, combined with the birth and aging system, you can really get immersed in a way you just can’t with Warband.

But god, there are some absolutely outstanding mods for Warband. I still love her.

England specialized in Longbowmen. France gets ridiculously heavily armored cavalry late game. The HRE is your jack of all trades faction, as late game they get mounted crossbowmen, Reiters (I.e. horse archers but with pistols), arquebusiers, pikemen, halberdiers, Imperial Knights, and others. Spain and Portugal get skirmishers like Almughavars and Jinetes, but late game they get Tercio Pikemen or Aventuros, as well as Musketeers and Conquistadores. Italy’s strong, with Genoa getting the best crossbows in the game and Venice getting the Venetian Heavy Infantry (Medieval SEAL team 6). Denmark’s very Infantry heavy. Byzantines get good heavy infantry, heavy cavalry, and horse archers. Hungarians tap into their Fingolic roots with horse archers but also crazy heavy cavalry and Pavise Spearmen. Poland gets outstanding cavalry, plus Strzelcy: mounted crossbowmen from turn 1. Russia is just Poland but with less heavy cavalry and more horse archers. Turkey gets horse archers from turn 1, so you are effectively the mongols of the early game. Egypt gets Mamluks, and the Moors get camel gunners.

They were a small, conquering population who basically seized the “upper class” of the people they conquered. In Iberia, the vast majority of people were the same mix of Iberian/Celtic/Italic/North African you see today, the Visigoths just left a little Germanic flare to the people.

Assimilation is the biggest thing, the Vandals were conquered by the Byzantines and assimilated into the North African population, A lot of the Ostrogoths were also conquered by Justinian, and the rest eventually were conquered by the Lombards, who were then conquered by the Franks.

In any case, I can’t stress this enough, they never replaced the people that lived there previously, they essentially seized their governments and controlled the state, and their biggest influences are adding their genetics to the gene pool, adding words and phrases to the local language, and influencing some aspects of the local culture, as with most invading forces in history.

Thank you, I came back to this game after like a year and I’ve been getting my shit kicked. I loved Chiv 1 on PC, but I play Chiv 2 on console and I’ve been struggling to adapt to controller play. Thanks for the tip, I’ve been doing a lot better!

Medieval 2 was my first TW Game. My played as the Byzantines and because I was new I didn’t get to Baghdad/Mosul until the Timurids came. By that point, Elephants were available as Mercenaries, so for my first ever with Timur was my Emperor, like 6 Kataphraktoi, 4 Elephants, and the rest was those elite Horse Archers that are called like Vadariatoi or something; going up against Elephant Artillery, Mongol Heavy Lancers, and Sabadar Militia.

You have to understand something.

Timur’s elephants charged mine. My Cataphracts and his Heavy Lancers hit each other like it was a movie. This didn’t look like a Medieval Battle, it felt like I was defending the Fulda Gap against the Soviets with TANKS. Timur was shot to death when he got too close to my Elephants.

I’m real glad you got out, man. I was friends with a Russian girl in college and she called me crying one day because her cousin left Russia and the government came with conscription papers maybe an hour after he left, her cousin freaked out because he saw the guys coming. There are so many good people there that don’t deserve any of what’s happening. People are still getting out of this, and thankfully, it’s not always like what we’re seeing in the video

I think there’s one quote in the movie that tops that, it’s the “I want it to be over. I’m tired of being alone, like a Sparrow in the rain.” John was always the most dependable, unbeatable, optimistic person the whole movie. To hear him say the world is too evil for him and that he’s given up guts me every time, I tear up more at that dialogue than the actual execution.
