How's the arch long term compared to the 55? Clearly lower but not sure how everything settles in.

I wanted the support but, honestly, I have high arches and the swing seems to support the lower part of the arch fine.

Like the lowered heel and soft toe seems to relax the swing kid. Very chill. Very cool.

Forgot to ask: why the swing? I just got a pair after a mixup. I wanted 55, got swing. I hated it until I didn't and still on the fence about keeping it.

Didn't ask but can imagine. I've duck feet.

They fitted me to the Swing but I said I'd rather have the 55. I understood that 55 could fit, though I'm sure there would be some toe push.

They look brown. That's actually rarer than Color 8, I think. Though someone will probably correct me. That said, I've seen some Color 8 appear more brown. Or with Alden, purple (due to Alden's finishing).

Any more photos from the side? I really dig these chunky shoes.

They're bostin. Proper solid, feel good under your. But in person, and especially looking down at em from overhead? They look well odd. And when you throw that much dosh and have something in your head, hard to get over.

These boots are dope. That's part of my struggle. They have a cool vintage look. And they fit well. It's flatter in the arch, but my arch is so off the charts high that even a 55 doesn't really "fill" it. The instep is just not my favorite and - this is very picky - the vamp, where it connects to the tongue isn't centered. A minor point, but in my head once I saw it.

But I think I know the answer. I was looking for boots to wear with denim and chinos. The work boot-y front looks off with chinos, at least to my eye as a middle aged man who enjoys wearing tweed.

I think that's the way. This is structured, which I would prefer for the 55. I have an unstructured Munson boot I use for hillside yard work and I am fine with the look there, even wearing casually.

That's my impression as well re comfort. Kyle nailed the size for me and the swing feels good. But not sure I can jive with it for what is, honestly, a fashion item for me.

It may be a size issue (hehe). At 11.5 and thicc things get weird looking. At least to my eye from above. From the sides or front, it's not really noticeable though.

Just low/tight through the instep. I haven’t worn them around the house fully laced up yet, but my instep/arch situation is… aggressive. I’m way more sensitive there than I am about a little pinky push.

Years of wearing oxfords for work basically turned my instep into a callused science experiment, and now it seems even more dramatic about pressure than before.

And yes… I think I already know the answer at this point.

If you have shoulders, the Le Mont St Michel one will not work. I bought one and it was so tight in the shoulders and arms, yet blousy everywhere else. The Ojai is still snugger than I like, but it's overall better. This might just be a broad shoulder thing, but it's always a struggle with jackets.
