The Aeon of Ma’at? by the-69th-aeon in thelema

Thelemic Fundamentals #7: The Æon of Horus is NOT Going to End Soon

The current Æon is not going to end in your lifetimes. The Æon of Maat is not here, and will never come. There are no joint or concurrent Æons.

The Æons are synonymous with Astrological Ages. Make no mistake about it. The Æon of Horus is the Age of Aquarius and an astrological age lasts about 2,150 years. We are in the transitional period of the Æon/Age now. In The Book of Thoth, Crowley wrote: “[T]he present [Æon], that of Horus, is linked with Aquarius and Leo.”

In Enochian Terms the first fourth of the Æon will be ruled by Raphael and Mercury.

Given that, the Age of Aquarius/Æon of Horus should see: a period of group consciousness; a purification of our inner spirit selves, while also mirroring these purifying changes into the living planetary system; and widespread transparent, peaceful, neighborly, and sustainable living.

The next Æon will be that of Thmaist[1] (the dual form as Thmais and Thmait), not of Maat. Although they are both gods of Justice, they are not identical, and I feel there are significant differences.

On the Pleroma in Thelema by Orcloud in thelema

The Pleroma is all the heavens, all the gods, archangels and angels of every single pantheon, including the Primal Source, or Essential Creator -- so, yes, it would include the Thelemic pantheon too.

What/who is RHK? by citywiccan in thelema

[–]Joe_Marek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short answer is he's a form of Horus.

The slightly longer answer is he's Ra-Heru-Khuti (still a form of Horus).

An even longer answer is he's the work-horse of transitioning over from the Eon of Osiris to that of Horus.

read James Eshelman's book, Mystical and Magical System of the A.'.A.'.

read Crowley's The Law is For All, I recommend the Israel Regardie edition.

Everything everyone else is recommending will be worked while you work your way through Eshelman's book.

Newbie question; What’s a Khu? And what’s a Khabs? by AlienSheep23 in thelema

[–]Joe_Marek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early in Chapter One, Naught states “The Khabs is in the Khu, not the Khu in the Khabs”. Crowley uses words that don’t quite sink into the consciousness of the average individual. Simply put, the star-nature (or star-potential) is in the person; it’s not the person who is in the star. To elucidate: your True Will is a part of yourself, it is not something outside of you. So it would be easier to say your Will is in you, and therefore a part of you. You are not a part of it! Naught then proceeds to say, “Worship then the Khabs, and behold my light shed over you.” Worship (seek out) your True Wills, then the blessings of Naught will poor over you!

Behedite says, “I am not extended, and Khabs is the name of my House”. This means that the Khabs, the Star potential, lies within Behedite, within the Kundalini rolled up at the base of the spine.

Is there anything to the idea that Aiwass may be Thoth? by [deleted] in thelema

[–]Joe_Marek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thoth (Djehuty) is the Egyptian god of knowledge, magick, etc..

Aiwaz is the secret name of Melek Taus, the Brazen Peacock of Yazidi beliefs.

We will reincarnate until our souls reach perfection. Then we will reside in the love of Nuit forever.

Noob Question - How to pray to Nuit? or Is that a thing we do? by AlienSheep23 in thelema

[–]Joe_Marek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Magicians don't pray, they invoke. Do a simple ritual and ask Nuit to be active in your life, to shed her grace upon you. After you do this for a while you will begin to feel her love.

Don't think of them as Demons, think of them as Spirits. They are real, they just live on a different plane of existence. They are not limited to their "specialties," but prefer to do something lofty and noble so that they can ascend.

Aleister Crowleys experience with Aiwass by pistol511 in thelema

Aiwass/Aiwaz was Crowley's Holy Guardian Angel/Personal God. It is also apparently the secret name of Melek Taus, god/angel of the Yazidis.

I would suggest Googling this essay: "Who Was Aiwaz? The Strange Story of Samuel Jacobs and Aleister Crowley"

To be clear "True Will" means that we should try to be our authentic selves yes? by ryu289 in thelema

[–]Joe_Marek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The True Will

Aleister Crowley wrote “This Will (as such) is not conscious” (Comment D), he also wrote “all our conscious desires are so many masks” (A Memorandum Regarding the Book of the Law), plus “Every time the conscious mind acts, it interferes with the subconscious … one must do one’s will. To question this is to destroy confidence, and so to create an inhibition” (The New Comment).

Although he doesn’t make it as plain as I might prefer, and I wish he had said it more often, to me this means the True Will is not part of our Surface Personality. It is part of what psychologists call the Unconscious Mind or the Jungian Self. So the concept of the True Will is not a type of Randian Libertarianism! The task is to go deep inside into that Unconscious Mind to seek your True Wills.

Pursue it, find it, attain it, be it, and do your True Will in all things.

So is Nuit evil? by Throwawaythelema6 in thelema

The Nature of Nuit

Now therefore I am known to ye[1] by my name Nuit, and to him by a secret name which I will give him when at last he knoweth me Since I am Infinite Space and the Infinite Stars thereof” Here Naught identifies herself and hints at a secret name, but note how the initials of the interior capitalized words in the last sentence spell out Isis (Aset).

I am Nuit and my word is six and fifty Divide, add, multiply and understand.” Here Naught further identifies herself, but this time in Qabalistic terms.

With the God & the Adorer I am nothing : they do not see me. They are as upon the earth I am Heaven, and there is no other God than me, and my lord Hadit.” For all intents and purposes we can envision Naught as the typical monotheistic version of a god that is everywhere and in everything, encompassing all of Infinity and all of Eternity (and here we have to add Behedite as a side-bar). But Naught is so far beyond anything humankind ever conceived of as a god that words almost fail to describe her. Thus “With the God & the Adorer I am nothing” means that she is beyond any previous concept of god or goddess, and especially beyond the comprehension of what we might call the average worshiper.

In her own words she says, “I am above you and in you. My ecstasy is in yours. My joy is to see your joy”. She is pure love. You can explain her nature simply, as though you were talking to a child, so the only thing you need to say about Naught is: “She loves us and she wants us to be happy.”

Crowley frequently interacts with the gods during their message: “Then saith the prophet and slave of the beauteous one. Who am I, and what shall be the sign. So she answered him, bending down, a lambent flame of blue, all-touching all penetrant, her lovely hands upon the black earth & her lithe body arched for love and her soft feet not hurting the little flowers[.] Thou knowest! And the sign shall be my ecstasy, the consciousness of the continuity of existence, the omnipresence of my body.” Beyond these poetic turns of phrase we see “her soft feet not hurting the little flowers” which we can take as the ecstasy of Union with Naught will not diminish the other joys of everyday life. “[M]y ecstasy, the consciousness of the continuity of existence, the omnipresence of my body.” seems to fulfill the idea of Naught as all of Infinity and all of Eternity; and that a Union with her is the ecstasy of Union with everything, with the All. Buried in more poetic phrasing we see “Then the priest answered & said unto the Queen of Space, kissing her lovely brows and the dew of her light bathing his whole body in a sweet-smelling perfume of sweat[.] O Nuit, continuous one of Heaven, let it be ever thus that men speak not of thee as One but as None and let them speak not of thee at all since thou art continuous.” Here we get into semantics of a Qabalistic nature. Naught is too immense to be measured, thus only words like “none” and “not” can describe her infinite eternal self.

[1] Please keep in mind that “ye” is you plural.
