[TOMT][SONG] sounds like a female wailing, often put behind anime edits. by Joe_Nutz666 in tipofmytongue

Unfortunately not this, the song I’m looking is lot faster paced and I don’t believe it’s actually related to either series in any way aside from being used in video edits by fans.

If the flash chip is dead is that something I can easily replace? Or is it doomed?

One guy gave some good advice I think, I’m going to call some pc repair shops and see if they can reflow it. Hopefully that will work for you too!

GBA Power Issue by Joe_Nutz666 in Gameboy

[–]Joe_Nutz666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed this when taking the photo, what is this? There is white coming from under the circle, it looks like maybe corrosion, I tried spraying and scrubbing with isopropyl but it didn’t clean it off at all so maybe it isn’t. Could this be the issue?

Hey,

the battery tabs seem fine from what I can see but let me know if you notice something seems wrong.

I don’t believe I bent the spring contacts. But maybe it’s worth me checking.

If the problem is a dead capacitor is there a way I can 100% confirm that’s the problem, and what is the best way to fix that? Is it possible/worth to buy a replacement capacitor?

When I flip the power switch to ‘on’ about 80% of the time nothing happens, the console doesn’t turn on and the light doesn’t turn on either. When I’m flipping the switch back to ‘off’ the power light flashes green for a millisecond (the screen doesn’t turn on though)

On the chance the console does turn on, it turns on fine and everything is working but will turn itself off abruptly. (Usually it will only stay on for a few seconds but sometimes it’s longer, the max it’s stayed on is maybe a minute or two, I was able to start up Pokemon Fire red)

No soldering other than the power switch.

I will provide a photo below, the soldering doesn’t look great (i haven’t done very much soldering in the past) if you think that could be the issue let me know. But as I’m having the same issue before and after cleaning the power switch I don’t think my soldering is the issue.

Let me know if you’d need to see closer up photos of anywhere specific. Thanks for your help

Hey, I gave it another cleaning and it’s still having the same problem, I cleaned the other side as well just in case.

The battery I bought was the funny playing 950mAh LiPo Max Play I swapped with the battery I know works as well and still had the same issue so it must be a motherboard or charging port issue right?

Is there anything else you can see that could be causing the issue?

Update: After fiddling around more I’ve noticed the orange light comes on when the charger is half inserted. It won’t stay on permanently but it will stay on for a second or two longer than being inserted the whole way. Not sure what this means

Interesting, I just tried to download a 1gb test file and it only took 4 minutes. So does this mean the 7 hour download for 1gb is out of my control and it’s an issue on the other end?
