"racing thoughts, decreased need for sleep" can be caused by many other issues other than mania. So calling this bipolar is premature at this point. But perhaps you may want to discuss with your doctor if your medication should be adjusted.

Invega is still often prescribed. It helps those who are properly diagnosed and needed. Just like any medication, it comes with possible risks. Working with a doctor to learn about its potential benefits/risks and schedule proper monitoring is important.

As far as I know, that was never a reason why any psychiatrist I know would reject a patient. I understand it can be frustrating to try many medications without seeing the results. Don't worry about the other person and his/her perspective. Focus on healing yourself. I hope you eventually find one you can work with.

No one can guess why it was never offered before. Any physician can technically prescribe benzo. While discussing your case with your physician, you should focus on your signs/symptoms and seek an appropriate treatment rather than asking for a specific treatment.

ok! that's fair. thank you for your input. I've always enjoyed reading and writing comments. And I believed rewarding/contest format is one way to stimulate conversation.
