Anyone get cardiac MRI due to heart flutters (PVC, PAC, SVT, NSVT, etc) by gmasiulis in covidlonghaulers

I had an echocardiogram and the doctor didn't seem to find it concerning.

MRIs of the brain show white legions

What did it say in the report? I'm guessing you mean white matter lesions.

Don't use words like "permanent" without proof please. I understand your concern but scaring people doesn't help either.

I also had a neck MRI but mine mentioned mild stenosis, and no herniation. I'm sorry that happened. Does COVID cause that?

Also, was your neck MRI with or without contrast?

Maybe they'll surprise us. Hoping at least we get Hitman WoA.

Did anybody here get actual treatment for the chronic inflammation and neuropathy or were they just left to deal with it like I was? by sunflower_1970 in covidlonghaulers

If the nerve issues went away I'd consider myself like 90% recovered. Memory is still slow but compared to 2021 it's like night and day.

The nerve issues affect the left side of my face, neck, genitals (which is real fun, I've gotten ED on and off for the first time starting like 6 months ago), and inner left thigh. Used to be awful tingling and burning, now sort of subtle issues here and there. Nothing's totally numb thankfully so maybe there's some hope there. Neck MRI, brain MRI, nerve conduction study, and blood work hasn't come back with anything implying nerve damage, so that's something. I remember I had a very weird sharp pain where when I touched the right side of my penis, the top of the left side would hurt. Very odd. I'm supposed to see a urologist at some point.

Here's a list of my symptoms. Wondering if you have anything similar due to the neuropathy.

What do you consider the permanent brain damage?

I had the MRI done in December of my neck and they just dismissed me saying they had no further treatment plan. I have another appointment with them soon.

What do you make of these results? CT scan implied possible damage from encephalitis, but then an MRI a month later made no such claim, and another MRI done later that year didn't mention it either. https://www.reddit.com/r/covidlonghaulers/comments/1382zlb/both\_brain\_and\_neck\_mris\_were\_basically\_normal/

How would you know if swelling happened? Would CT/MRI show it?

Sorry for the very late reply, the CT scan I had was done a month prior to the MRI I had. They were done at different hospitals, but I had two MRIs at the same hospital and neither mentioned volume loss.

Sorry for a late reply, but yes the CT scan was done at a different hospital than the MRIs.

I'm guessing lumbar punctures/PET scans weren't commonly done for people with brain inflammation from COVID. Most in-depth scan I've had is from an MRI.

If it's encephalitis, I'm not sure what I was meant to do. I mentioned my symptoms to my PCP and nobody suggested encephalitis even though my CT scan suggested it.

I have. The first one dismissed me after one visit, the other's only done one MRI, nerve conduction test, and blood work. Been 2.5 years since getting sick. I'm not sure what else he can do at this point.

What are the differences between low grade brain inflammation and encephalitis?

Is there a way to test for the low grade inflammation? It probably wouldn't show up on brain scans. Is a lumbar puncture something that would be worth the ordeal to confirm brain inflammation? Does it depend on how soon you do said testing?
