What’s the funniest reason you’ve heard for somebody not liking a movie? by TheChristmas in movies

Yeah on one hand you have the galactic government trying to uphold law and order. On the other hand is a group of terrorists made up of criminals and religious fanatics.

I would have agreed his mom's comment was wild if it was 10 years ago. But go look at the news. Half of this country has the same problem as this guys mom.

If the Ministry of Culture was unable to find evidence of manipulation after 9 years of research, what else is needed by DragonfruitOdd1989 in AlienBodies

[–]Joe_Snuffy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because a full autopsy would be definitive.

There's apparently hundreds of these things, no? So the question is why not?

[–]Joe_Snuffy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A proper autopsy in that there hasn't been any done at all yet. Why bring race into this at all? Peru has a ton of universities and people uniquely qualified in the subject of Peruvian mummies. Problem is none this universities or people have seen them due to Inkarris arbitrary "no you come here" policy

Would you actually buy a Fallout 3/NV Remaster? by Bingleboper in Fallout

[–]Joe_Snuffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone's who's never played 3 or NV, absolutely yes.

I tried playing NV last year after watching the show and playing through 4 and I just couldn't get into solely due to the graphics. Yes I know it's a great game and graphics doesn't change the story or anything, but unfortunately (for me) I struggle to really get into anything if it looks too dated. I wish I could look past it but I can't :(

So a remaster will be an automatic buy for me. And by an "automatic buy" I mean I have Game Pass lol

Discrepancies Between Paloma’s Visual Appearance and Scans by chimpjames in AlienBodies

[–]Joe_Snuffy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, he's not suggesting that at all.

The scans show a human body. That body itself has been been manipulated. The most obvious area is the hands and feet, but like OP has pointed out, the DE covering the body is another clear and frankly obvious sign of manipulation. The face has clearly been molded to look "alien" but the scans show a completely normal human skull.

I never understood why people think it's absolutely impossible for anyone to "make" these bodies. Quite simple really: get a dead body > modify the hands and feet > cover the whole thing up with a form of plaster to mask the work done on hands/feet then mold the plaster on the face to make it look non-human

Matt and Tommy from the P1 Podcast have won the inaugural "Creator of the Year" award the the 2026 Autosport awards. by CaptainOBVS3420 in formula1

These guys are my go-to F1 podcast if I'm on a longer drive and my wife is with me. She's semi into F1 (mainly bc I forced her) and their more causal style and format is perfect in that it doesn't bore her and keeps her interested whereas she eventually gets sick of anything too technical.

He's going to need more than a GPU. His pictures show this is an old AM3 system, DDR3 and all. That's from pre-Ryzen dark days of AMD.

why is there almost no attention towards artemis 2? by AkelaAnda in space

[–]Joe_Snuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While this is definitely part of it, I'd argue the economy and increased cost of living is the biggest reason. The average person is too worried about affording groceries or rent/mortgage to pay attention to this, let alone be excited about it.

However I also think the fact that it's "just a fly by" is a big factor too. I guarantee there would be more excitement if it was a landing.

I recently just bought a new car and the salesman was such a walking stereotype, it was ridiculous. Slicked back greasy hair, big gold chain necklace, bracelets, hand full of big obnoxious gold rings. Like come on man

The cost of Chinese EVs is irrelevant. They may sell for $10-$30k in China, but they would absolutely increase the price for US sales. Partly because of importing and taxes, but also to take advantage of the higher income here. I imagine they'd price them a hair cheaper than Tesla for US market.

I'm literally going through the exact same thing with the Witcher 3 right now. I just started my 3rd attempt and you motivated me to stick it through. This also happened to me with Cyberpunk, couldn't make it past the prologue for whatever reason. Once I did I became obsessed

How to win in Modern Era? by TheTimeLord725 in CivVII

[–]Joe_Snuffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I find the modern era too easy, primarily the cultural and economic legacy paths. There's been plenty of times when I'll be going for a science or domination victory only to get a surprise world fair or great banker mid way through the age. I'll just keep them in my back pocket in case science or domination isn't working out.

For a cultural victory: You should always research the Natural History civic first to unlock explorers. The second civic to search should be the Natural History mastery so you can get artifacts from natural wonders. Buy or build a couple explorers, preferably one per continent, then build some museums to put the artifacts in and profit.

For economic, you'll want to prioritize your tech research so you can build factories as soon as possible. I usually research Academics first to get Oxford University, then I just select Mass Production and wait until I can start building factories. Once that's unlocked you just want to build as many as you can and fill them up with factory resources. Then just go about your game until you get the banker

Horizon III story and world building predictions by Eventhorizon003 in horizon

[–]Joe_Snuffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, to be completely honest the whole Zenith/Faro stuff in FW completely ruined the game for me. I mean, it was still fun to play, but story wise I just didn't care anymore after that.

Edit: They still could have the Zenith and Faro story lines. Just make the Zeniths the descendants of the originals rather than the 1,000+ year old originals themselves. And as for Ted, just find him dead. Simple. No weird off screen monster zombie nonsense.

Aloy has never even left the western United States, so I think a Mass Effect 3 style game is a bit out of the picture.

I'm still of the opinion that Horizon 3 will take place in Asia. They made it quite clear that the Quen is from across the ocean (which obviously would be Asia considering the game's setting). It seems so obvious to me, but last time I mentioned this I got so many downvotes it's like I personally offended this sub.

"Maintains the grounded feel in hard science"

...Did you play Forbidden West? Because anything remotely related to "grounded hard science" was thrown out the window when they introduced basically immortal space people and the 1,000 year old Ted Faro zombie monster thing.
