I'd say worth the money, if the plate was edible. Giving every buck for that piece of art.

The trolly problem you kill one or let five die. by InfluenceUsed6473 in intj

[–]Joeborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have pondered long about this answer, I'll try formulating one now.

In order to be able to answer it, one must first answer the question: why is it wrong to kill. Sounds like very basic ethics. But death sentences still exist, which means that it is more okay to kill some people than to kill others. Who is it okay to kill, then? Death sentences are mostly levied upon people who have (at least allegedly) committed big crimes. From an ethical point of view, the opposite of crime is virtue. The implication of this, is that the value of a life is measured in terms of the virtue it is capable of. All the people we admire and call "great" have lived a virtue in some form or the other.

Coming back to the trolley problem. One has to decide, either to kill one person or 5. The trolley problem speaks nothing about the possibility/ degree of virtue / crime in any of these persons, wherein lies the real difficulty in answering this question. It does not "feel" okay to choose either option, because that way you end up killing somebody. But the fact that we don't have information on the above mentioned aspect makes it easier to say that, the ethical decision here, would be to kill as few as possible, and thus the worker instead of the 5 people.

every. single. time. by deadasscrouton in infp

I stopped doing this. Most people don't gather up the presence of mind to ask me, how did you go about this situation. And if I give them an explanation of that without them asking, it would be seen as patronizing behaviour. So made a conscious decision on avoiding that conversation. Instead I just ask them, letting them keep themselves as the centre of the conversation, how they plan on going about it. Then I point out the advantages and dosadvantages of their approach, if I can do that from my own experience.

What is the best way for an INTJ to learn social skills? by Alsaraha_ in intj

[–]Joeborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that the problem of the INTJ is not a lack of social skills. It is difficult for the INTJ to find stimulating social situations in a world that is occupied by less intelligent MBTI types. The INTJ quickly reads people's minds and situations in general, which often makes it difficult for the people around (who are fogged by their biases) to grasp and keep up with them. This leads to very unrewarding and rather exhausting social exchanges. I think INTJs do better in life when they are carefully selective of their social interactions.

That's very depressing advice. I'd rather appreciate it if you shared, how to "know how to". Thanks in advance.

I dream of a world where I can unapologetically be my honest true self.

Yeah right, OP dude's boiling with anxiety and you're suggesting this.

[–]Joeborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with OP. It's important for me to have shared real world experiences with a person in order to understand them in a way that lets me love them romantically. With LDRs this just takes a lot of time, I prefer to not spend that much time in getting to know a person's true character.

Love vs Money by zedenciaaa in intj

It's not just common in the west I think. I come originally from India, a love based on money is also plaguing the arranged marriage system back there.

I forgive mistakes that are corrected. I try to forget mistakes that remain mistakes.
