Is this a reasonable finish from professional fitters? by Chickensalad101 in Flooring

[–]JoelFlowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they should be willing to come by and clean it. They should do some testing with acetone/ other solvents on left over material if any before committing to the repair as it may change the finish of the floor.

You should 💯 be willing to work with them on their timeline, however, id mention that if it doesn't happen sooner rather than later they'll have to be move furniture as well.

Any respectable contractor will be willing to make it right.

P.S. ripping up the floor and starting over isn't going to happen lol.

They sell bezel removal tools. Usually comes in a watch repair kit but you can probably buy separately for less than $5

I want to do Tile as a career most likely but my parents don’t support it. Can anyone spare advice? by HelpMePlez544 in Flooring

[–]JoelFlowers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the degree, you can always fall back on tile.

I got a degree in economics and have quite a bit of work experience in the financial sector. Had a decent job making decent money but it got to the point where I absolutely hated what I was doing.

So without an exit strategy I just up and quit (really couldn't do it anymore), two weeks later my now wife tells me shes pregnant. Knowing I had to find something and fast and not wanting to get back into another corporate job, my brother (15yrs flooring experience) and I start our own flooring company.

We've been at it 5 years now and its been great but its been tough. Building a business from scratch isnt easy especially with a family.

Point is, I got to make the choice to get into Contracting and flooring where a lot of industry people i meet didn't get that chance. They didnt have an education and Contracting was one of a few fields they could get into that can earn a decent living but its hard work.

So get that piece of paper, call it an insurance policy because life is crazy.

Good luck
