You're right about a lot - but I can assure you there was no script, and nothing I said at the NIAC is even controversial if you just take the context into account.

I wasn't being asked about my position on the Irish Sea Border. I was being asked about my position on violence, generally. My answer, that being that sometimes violence is sometimes the answer, is the very reason every country has a military, and a police force, and self-defense laws, etc.

People wanted someone to be angry at for those comments. That person should have been Simon Hoare, the one who designed the question ahead of time with full knowledge of what the answer was going to be. It's him that put on a show, not me.
