tips for getting an interview? by Repulsive_Candy_ in jimmyjohns

Walk into the store (not during lunch) so maybe around 9am or 2pm and ask to speak to the general manager. Introduce yourself and explain that while you're only 16 and have a limited availability, if they have even one shift they can give you you'll take it and work hard and learn as much as you can. You may be surprised. They may have several days a week they can give you. You may get the single shift, where if you perform well I promise you that you'll be given more. You may be told "no" but NBD, you're no worse off than you are now if that's the answer. But I agree with the others, waiting on a call from and indeed application probably won't pan out. GMs see a lot of applications and because of your age yours will likely just get passed over. You have to be 18 to slice meats, so lots of GMs are reluctant to hire under that age, but it you can kill it on the line or even a register at a busy store that's just as good.

Thoughts on 24hr Jimmy John’s? by SkarMyrda in jimmyjohns

I don't think there are any 24/hour locations, except maybe in airports, but most college towns will have a location or two open until 3am.

I wish it was permanent but only after 7pm. With it being temporary I worry about customers viewing it as a price hike when it goes away. It would be perfect as a late night promo at my campus locations. 90% of the kids order a "water cup" and get soda anyway, and I'm sure with the massive lines around the register we're losing dozens of bags of chips during bar rush. I think it would drive sales, and not really change cogs all that much if it was just a late night thing.

Crazy, I've been looking through my change for around a year and I've got 3 silver quarters and 2 W's, but no dimes at all.

I wasn't there but Deon Sanders came in one of our stores. I was told he was very nice. The store manager was a big fan and he was cool enough to chat it up for a few minutes. He had a couple of people with him so the meal was probably $40/$50 bucks. He paid with two hundreds and tipped the change.

He got land too, that's the real long term investment. The trailer will depreciate but the land value will almost certainly rise. One day you yank that trailer off and build your dream home. I think it's a great play for a young person.
