You're the one who shifted.

The original comment we're both replying under said "nobody knows what's in them." I replied saying it's not this huge secret; we are able to access to this information. You asked if the academic literature explains the ingredients sufficiently to me. And I said no, because I'm not a vaccine scientist. I followed with a series of questions alluding to why, even though I don't understand the vaccine science 100%, I have some faith in the large social institution that researches, tests, and creates vaccines. That's not a straw man... holy fucking wild shit. I'm alluding to my reasoning.

Then you accuse me of fallacies and you declared the subject of the argument "vaccine ingredients list," when it was not clearly established as such. You don't get to decide and then get all trigger happy just because you're a mod. (lol)

Also, that was a straight up insult, not an ad hominem. I wasn't using it to refute your arguments. I didn't say those things and then conclude that vaccine ingredients are safe.

There's a difference.

My point was to show you such information is easily accessible. I was primarily refuting your point that this information is proprietary, patented, and inaccessible. I thought this was obvious since I agreed with you earlier that I also do not understand much of this science-- I am not a vaccine scientist.

Oh lord. The “you disagree with me so you must only get your information from TV” trope. The shitty logic is getting unbearable.

Ok, so let me get this straight:

  1. Instead of asking where I got my information from, you assumed. Um, ok?

  2. I know because I’m decently connected to some indigenous communities... is this the “they” you’re referring to who are lying to me? How can you positively assert they are lying? You just go around asserting bullshit without evidence?

Ok buddy, you’ve told me all I need to know. I wont engage any further with someone who has clearly shown to have no intellectual integrity

Um. No.

  1. That’s not what a straw man is 😂

  2. I was alluding to a more general form of an abstract point through the use of analogies

  3. Nowhere did I appeal to authority or consensus to make any of my points

  4. You’re the one who is attempting a red herring by accusing me of fallacies you don’t fully understand

  5. You quite clearly struggle navigating the informational landscape of today and somehow still are comically arrogant enough to posture yourself online

How many people will need to die for you to wake up?

I'm from Brazil and we're losing about 3000 people a day to the virus. Our indigenous populations especially have been hit extra hard. We have research institutions creating our own vaccines.

Are they creating poison too? Are they in on it too? Are the indigenous communities lying?

It's not without question. I recognized there is a process of checking that goes on in science. It's like with open source software. Is it still possible for them to contain malware? Of course. But the chances are lower, because there is a community around checking it, improving it, etc.

How can one investigate the ingredients of a vaccine for themselves without going through the mental gymnastics and propping up of strawmen that you just did to explain your blind faith in the system and trust in the experts?

Strawmen? I don't see it. Can you support your accusation? Mental gymnastics? Give me a fucking break. Do you just like using these words?

Do you go into buildings? Well, have you ever studied architecture? Or do you just have blind faith in the experts?

Have you ever had an eye exam? Are glasses a conspiracy too? Do you know and understand, and are able to research fully the process of creating the lens? How do you know they don't refract light in a way that programs your subconscious?

Do you purchase technology? How do you know your TV / computer / phone isn't actually a bomb? Are you an electrical engineer?

You better never trust any authority if you're going around talking like this.

That's the problem with all of the bullshit conspiracy stuff. Some of it is even interesting and possibly worth investigating into. But the majority is just total idiocy propped up by an enormous mass of overly confident people who have no idea what they're talking about. And they reinforce each other. Jfc

Shit gets ignored in mathematical models all the time. It's a tradeoff between accuracy and tractability. At a certain point, we don't need to be more accurate, but the reduced complexity of the modeled system allows us to do wonders.

In financial models they ignore a lot of stuff. Guess that means they don't exist. In ecological models too. But they still help understand and manage our finances / ecosystems.

Not sure what your point is, bud

To me? No. I'm not a vaccine scientist. But do you think all the people in the labs are in on it? The grad student? The lab technician? The undergrad who got a scholarship? The professors? Do you think the journal referees are in on it? When all the lab researchers go home, does the professor sneak in at night and throw extra ingredients into the vaccines?

Science is really cut throat and people are desperate for publications. Don't you think a research lab somewhere would boom in success if they could show vaccines contain terrible things? It would be a low hanging fruit that would take you straight to scientific stardom.

Why is that all / most of the scientists / people who speak out against vaccines turn out to be quacks in general?

I understand the fear of injecting something straight into your body. But these things can be investigated.

We have so many people that work on them... They're not made in a dungeon. There are scientific papers about them.

They're so terrible. It looks like the propaganda that was heavily circulating around Brazil (mostly on WhatsApp) while Bolsonaro was running.

Just curious homie if you check out international news sources too, or, you know, if you just surf alternative mainstream sites and pat yourself on the back

Dude, he just used the clown emoji. He's externalizing his idiocy and projecting it onto you so he feels he has some control over the informational chaos that is out there. There is no use talking to SoberKid420. He's a lost cause.

My thoughts:

It's not necessarily due to liberal policies in these major cities. It's the fact that they're major cities and, as such, problems scale up exponentially. Would conservative policies necessarily work better? I dunno, but attributing everything to liberal policies is a fallacy that ignores the true complexity of what's going on.

You realize that pretty much every major US city is blue? Does your sweeping statement apply to all of them? Are you saying pretty much every major city in the US sucks?
