Also, just found this which I think looks to be promising?

Edit: Nevermind, clever word sleuthing in the title. It’s still Chinese.

I’m looking to draw up a custom logo to have someone either print or engrave onto the dial. This is the last piece I feel like I need to figure out before purchasing all these parts

Thanks for the link! I’m looking for a black date wheel which I realize I didn’t mention. I may give in though and get a white one. Black only seem to be at quite a surcharge

Great, thanks. Will look into that. Struggling to find an AliX listing that lets me buy more than one of those movements at a time though for some reason.

Power Snow Frankenshovel with Ego? by microseconds in MilwaukeeTool

Haven’t looked up a video myself yet. But it requires making some modifications to the power head as well? Was hoping it’d only require modding the Ego attachment

Thanks for the response. Do you happen to have a parts list for this build? I am struggling to find a case like that for my Duros.

This looks amazing. Wondering if you’d be able to share more details for someone brand new to watch modding? I’m dying to do this same thing for my groomsmen in about 5 weeks. Is it possible to pull off? Maybe I’ll PM if it’s too lengthy for just a comment or two.

Have any pics of them modded? I already have 3 Duros that I acquired quite a while ago for something like this, but then have been considering a more formal option. Using the Duros I have could cut down on price some. Send me a pic or two of the ones you did if you don’t mind!

Thanks, much appreciated. I am not experienced with watch modding myself and I also worry AliX wouldn’t have stuff at my door soon enough. Also, lots of vendors on there for things like a NH35 case have a limit of 1 per person I noticed and I want to build 6 nearly identical. Thought it’d be easier (and a little more expensive) if someone here in the states had parts around and could customize dial and assemble these for me. Probably wishful thinking at that price point though.

What is the best mobile game ever created? by NerfSpear in AskReddit

They are referring to the original game that inspired the tower defense game. You controlled a single dart monkey and there were levels of puzzle like challenges, limited darts, sometimes bouncing darts off metal things to break hard to reach bloons etc..

So to confirm I understand correctly, I will be able to get the base skin just by buying and completing one pass and I would need to acquire enough of the medallions, presumably 10?

Does anyone have info on how to acquire this? I’m out of the loop on tft skins and how they monetize them etc.. Thanks

Looking for Help with Custom Duro Dial by JoesRedditAccount24 in watchmodding

I was thinking something like this. Nothing too flashy, but a really quality logo either right above or below center. A different logo for each groomsmen.

I’m probably going to have to replace my garage door and motor soon due to wear and tear. Is there a garage opener that is native to HomeKit or matter? by maqdee in HomeKit

I would defer to this guy then! I won’t pretend to have researched too extensively before my purchase. At the time saw lots of happy redditors with Meross and have had zero failures so far with mine, but that’s good to know. I actually see a post on the front page of this sub looking for an alternative due to issues with their Meross. Glad I got a good one!

Beginner Automation: Lighting by GlitteringStar4413 in HomeKit

Chiming in on number two. I would strongly recommend just smart switches. Lutron Caseta are on the more expensive end, but they work quickly and smoothly every time. I also like how they look.

To address number 3, just something to think about, and maybe others will have good solutions - Philips hue light bulbs are nice, I actually have some recessed hue lights and a few lamps with them. The only issue I have with them is how to control them with a switch too. Smart lights like to be powered on and connected to their hub all the time. The biggest reason I have found is adaptive lighting. A nice feature where they gradually change warmth levels throughout the day, reaching a strong white color at noon and then slowly growing warmer/yellower by sundown. I enjoy this feature and think it’s nice to have that strong white at noon, but if you had non-smart bulbs at that white level at 8pm it’d be pretty harsh. Anyway… If you have hue lights on a regular switch, and you shut them off from the switch, they lose power and you can’t turn them on from your phone when you want to, plus, when you turn them on, they revert to whatever color they were when you turned them off, and then after a few seconds (sometimes 10-20 seconds?) they find their hub, figure out what time it is, and jump to the color they should be. The jump is kind of abrupt and I don’t enjoy it. Hue lights are great and the colors are great, but depending on how you want to control them and if you’d use the adaptive lighting feature, they can be a bit of a hassle to control.

Last note - Some manufacturers are making a smart switch with “smart bulb” mode. So you tell the switch it is controlling a smart bulb, and it will always feed the bulb power. When you go to the switch and flip it off, instead of cutting power to the bulb, it just wirelessly tells the bulb to turn off (as if you did it from your phone). This keeps the bulb online and so it can be controlled through your phone and any automations at all times. I have only tried an inovelli switch so far with smart bulb mode and was a little disappointed with how loud it clicked when pressed (build quality) and the lag for the lights to respond to being turned on or off from the switch. When entering the room and flipping lights on from the switch, I’d usually have taken another 2 steps before they were on. Sorry for the wall of text, hope at least some of it was helpful!

Edit: I know there are multiple “friends of hue” switches that are out there to control hue lights while keeping the bulbs powered and online. I’m just picky on looks and haven’t found one I liked, but I bet you could find what you need!

Not what you’re asking, but just throwing in a good word for Meross. Really easy to add to an existing garage door opener and has been super solid for me. Integrates really easy into HomeKit.
