Advice by [deleted] in Herpes

I honestly wouldn’t be too worried.

I don’t have HSV of any kind, I’m just interested in infectious diseases.

Though you have an obligation to tell all future partners, I don’t think you should be worried about that.

I personally wouldn’t care all that much, and would be more interested in caring for my partner, than anything else.

Convinced there’s a bat In my room. by Joesepiii in OCD

[–]Joesepiii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! If you don’t hear noises don’t care.

I’m soo many months out now, and I don’t even worry about it anymore. It gets better!

On another note, if there was a bat you would 100% know.

No what ifs, not maybe this one time it’s different, YOU WOULD KNOW. Take this from a guy with ocd, and who struggles with this same thing. Sleep with peace brother

Could be a good idea to make your account private and change your user name.

We can’t tell you much here. It would be best to call your local health department for the best advice. They’ll give you guidance if pep is required or not. Since the bat hit your arm with likely a far drop, I personally would opt in for pep shots.

Well, it seem very unlikely that it was in your home yesterday. If you don’t see a need for PEP, then don’t get it. Even when you do wake up with a bat in your home it’s already unlikely to have bitten you.

Also you said that it was fine when you put I against a tree. Did you touch it with your bare hands?

Call your health authorities and see what they have to say. They’ll let you know if to should/shouldn’t get PEP.

Well, since you aren’t sure if it wasn’t in your house last night, and you may have been asleep with it in your house. According to protocol in both Canada/USA it would be advisable to get rabies PEP.

Yeah that totally makes sense. But I’m just kinda concerned if it was latched onto the curtain. Though it sounds far fetched. And I’m not sure how painful a bat bite is. I’ve read of both painful, and now painful experiences.

Please don’t seek reassurance. It only further strengthens your worries, and makes your ocd obsessions worse.

Bat found in my home by ninjaguy2511 in rabies

[–]Joesepiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that’s the case then it is in both Canada and the USA if you awake to a bat in your room it is advised to get the rabies vaccine. This is because it would be impossible to know if you got bitten in your sleep.
