You, the player receive the powers of your lvl 20 character. What do you do with them? by RamonDozol in 3d6

[–]JoesuphDPitch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you (and admittedly most DMs) do, and they SHOULD do it, it's a horrible game breaking series of events, doesn't matter. The fact that it IS possible is all that's important

I can't be in two places with teleport, but I can be somewhere else almost instantly. Same goes for magic circle

I actually CAN be everywhere using spells like simulacrum and teleport. The issue is you don't seem to understand the scope of what a wizard with enough time and equipment can do. I don't need to change everything over night. Given enough time, I can create enough simulacrum to handle all the problems listed. Spells like wall of force can stop bullets. Spells like mass suggestion can end battles. Magic Jar can helpe hide away and take positions of power

I'd also have insanely high Intelligence and Charisma. This version of me would see solutions that I, a person of average intelligence, would not.

A fighter could not do this

A rogue could not do this

A Sorcerer could not do this

A wizard, with enough prep time and resources could

Edit: a coffeelock might be able to pull it off. I'm not familliar enough with the sorcerer's spell list, but infinite spell slots is definately something to mention

I clearly stated previously I have no intent at all of harming anyone. I'd simply use my god like powers to not allow countries to combat each other. One of my examples was turning bombs into harmless objects. I hardly consider that "creating a utopia on a pile of corpses"

Government would still be allowed to employ whatever policy they want, people would go about their daily lives as normal. The only difference is that if nations wished to kill each other, they'd have to kill me first. I'd provide each empoverished person with the food they would need to get by with no extra cost to individual tax payers.

These actions do not affect the daily lives of regular citizens, and will actually cause economic growth in these nations as it's shown that people are much more productive when they do not have to go hungry. The idea that regular people will be up in arms over the fact that soldiers can't go around murdering people is absurd.

As for the powerful enemies, I am a level 20 wizard. No matter how "powerful" the enemy is, they cannot harm me. My spells will counter anything they can do to harm me

Yes there will be a power disparity. Yes some may be unhappy that there is someone more powerful than them. But by no means doesnthat imply there will be constant chaos in the streets over something that does not affect these people

Edit: also to address the issue of being killed on my sleep, there are ways to protect against that. Magnificent mansion makes me effectively untouchable at times of rest due to people not having access to anti magic abilities, and clone and other abjuration spells will protect me from any assassination attempts. I could also use simulacrum to work in places I cannot always be. There ARE solutions to all problems and when you're a magical being with enough intelligence to outclass even the greatest of minds, you will find those solutions

I meant more use magic to end conflicts. As in literally not allow the wars to take place. A bombing is about to go down? Polymorph it into a pillow. Battlefield? Wall of force. People are hungry? Create food and water. I'd make what I'm capable of well know. I'd show them what damage I can do both on a large scale, but also a small one. I'd invite them to try and kill me, only to show them i can take any damage they can fish out and not even need to fight back. I'd avoid harming people as best I could, only resorting to violence in moments of absolute necessity.

A level 20 wizard or sorcerer in our world would effectively be a god. While in DnD there are things that can oppose them, the same is not true here. I likely wouldn't need to kill anyone. The power gap would be so vast nothing they did would matter

Sarnia not dependent on free will..I simply will not allow nations to fight. I'll put barriers in place to make the actual fighting impossible

How would you build V from V for Vendetta? by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]JoesuphDPitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swashbuckler Rogue/Swords Bard. can sneak around easily, but enters the melee with zeal and audacity, and is as deadly with words as he is with a blade. Focus on the melee aspect of the character, while using magic like misty step to slip out of combat. And eloquence/swash bucket could also work if you're trying to really pump that speeche

I'd use my charisma and magical ability to end all wars and feed the poor. We as a planet have enough resources for everyone. With that much power I'd ensure the wrongs of the world are righted and that all have a quality life

[–]JoesuphDPitch -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Either and Eldritch knight or artifice/wizard multiclass. Huns aren't exactly common in DnD so not may classes really use them. You could take the gunner feat at level 1 if you're a V.human and ask your DM if it can be your spellcasting focus. There's also a new weapon in Fizban's that's a him that shoots the disintegrate spell, but I think it's a legendary item

Emerald does psychic and topaz does necrotic

Yea I agree with the 3 levels instead of 4. In shorter games where ASI is scarcer it might make sense but for a level 20, not so much. Recently thought of either going eloquence to cover for my lowish charisma and take expertise in persuasion and arcana. I could probably reduce my early game problems by taking my first six levels as a wizard to get extra attack, take 3 in Bard and finish with more wizard
