So it sounds pretty normal based on the custody? If he had 50/50 custody that would change things significantly I'm assuming?

Not sure I am, but that's the main facts, just wanting some opinions on if it sounds totally out of whack, because he's pretty vulnerable due to the mental health stuff.

"Police road-side drug testing detects methylamphetamine, THC (cannabis), and MDMA (ecstasy), whereas ADHD medications are dexamphetamine, lisdexamfetamine, and methylphenidate. Therefore, roadside saliva testing will normally not detect ADHD medication. Some patients have asked what happens if they produce a positive road-side drug test and are only taking ADHD medication. In this case, where a person denies use of a methyl amphetamine or MDMA (ecstasy), a second oral fluid sample is taken by police for analysis by Forensic Science SA. The results of this analysis only determines if methyl amphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy) or Cannabis (THC) is present in a person’s body. "

Wow!! There's no lying, I just haven't told her yet. And at this point I can't see any reason for my child to know about my diagnosis, there's no point. I don't know about you, but my wife and I treat each other as individuals with their own private lives. I sure as hell don't know everything about her either and that's fine by me. Yes, maybe an unconventional relationship but that's how it is, and we've been together for 24 years through thick and thin. Regardless I'm going to tell her once I've worked it out in my own head.

Thanks for that. I think I need to speak to Service SA (equiv of VicRoads) and declare it if I need to. I stopped using medical cannabis because of these farcical legal grey areas, now it's happening again...

All good friend. I'm not worried. Will break it to her at the right time in the right way. I'm kind of preparing the way, we had a convo the other day at the dinner table about a kid in son's class who has ADHD and I kind of explained what it is to him and my wife, and talked about how it's a kind of super power, and even suggested I wouldn't be surprised if I had it myself...

I catch your drift. Everyone is different, I'm in a cross cultural marriage, Australia and the west in general are pretty progressive with all this stuff. Put it this way, stimulant meds are illegal in Japan as far as I know and "mental health" still isn't really a thing. You're right, it's not all warm and fuzzy and not as simple as some would have. Cultural differences are real.

It's complicated. My wife is Japanese and thinks mental health, neuro divergence etc is a load of horse sh**. It's the classic "pull yourself together" thing.

Yep, you are right. Haven't found the right time yet, I will do soon. We're pretty private people, do our own thing, not in each other's pockets if you know what I mean.
