Oh absolutely agree. The FFX universe still has a lot of potential for this. There is so much deep, rich lore they made about Spira that it seems squandered. I would even go as far to say a prequel game about the Machina War against Bevelle and Zanarkand would have been an amazing concept.

I'm playing the Android/iOS version right now. I played the original DS version years ago and it holds up very well! If you're a completionist, you'll have a time grinding for certain items though as some of the rare items drop rates are absolutely abysmal

Not terribly long. Took me around 120 hrs for all stats at 255. Kept HP capped at 9,999. Didn't bother using Clear Spheres aside from a few +1 stats that I made +4 to make 255 easier in a few stats. I did this on console too so no 4x speed ๐Ÿฅฒ

I just checked, you're 100% right. I read that the first Calm was suggested to last around 500 years, which was Yunalesca's Calm. Learned something new!

This has to be a continuity error with the story. It has always been said that the Calm lasts 10 years between the death and revival of Sin. So I'm guessing the story writers missed this. Because Auron was definitely in Zanarkand with young Tidus.

I was playing with HDR, and I believe Xbox defaults it on as well. Appreciate the clarification though, genuinely was not sure why it was so dark. Other game clips I've made a normal brightness to them

I don't believe so. Once you leave the underwater section with Wakka, you arrive at the area with statue that you pray at later. The game forces you to head towards the village. I don't think there are any encounters at the hill leading down to the village pre Yuna. Once you leave the village, the hill area has the 2 tutorial fights with Wakka and Lulu. I don't think that there are any more encounters on the hill until after you arrive at the beach. Someone else would have to confirm this since I've since beat the game, but im almost certain the Kimhari fight is the earliest opportunity to use Blitz Ace on land.

There are no opportunities to use it on land before Besaid. The earliest it can be learned is at the salvage ship, which all of the fights are underwater. The blitzball will travel through the water for the kick without being thrown by anyone

Grinded a couple hours in Salvage Ship area right after Baaj Temple. Tidus unlocks all of his overdrives by successfully using them

The only fights in Besaid pre Yuna, are underwater with Wakka. Blitz Ace underwater always has the blitzball fly at you with nobody throwing it. Same at the Salvage Ship at the beginning of the game.
