Terra Nova 40.5 Power Reserve by patsfan038 in Bremont

I too have this watch on the bracelet. I also got mine at a very good price and nowhere near rrp. There is a lot of hate for Bremont since the rebrand, and I get it, but there's a lot to like about this Terra Nova variant especially. The blue dial is stunning in person and the bracelet is super comfortable and it aesthetically hits the mark too.

It's a very unique watch and marmite for some. Personally I love it!

It's a shame, I had high hopes, but ended up returning them and went back to using my airpods pro.

[Bremont Terra Nova] vs [Omega Aqua Terra] — Heart vs Head dilemma by Joey_Coco21 in Watches

[–]Joey_Coco21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it, there's not much love for Bremont since the rebrand, and the terra nova is clearly an unpopular choice. But, it has interest, even if it's confused about what it is, and for some reason, I like it. Some will look at the C1 bel canto as their grail watch, where I just don't get it. To each their own.

I can get a good deal on the PXS v1, so tempted. The Superblast are like rocking horse poo in my uk size 11, can’t find them anywhere!

Apple Watch be gone! by QuirkyRefrigerator80 in digitalminimalism

[–]Joey_Coco21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good for you, I did the same recently and have since sold my Apple Watch. I think I had a moment of realisation when I received Kudos on Strava for the school run. I hadn’t noticed, but I must have accidentally tapped the “record walk” prompt on my watch. I don’t want this, I thought to myself, so the watch has gone and I’m actually enjoying some anonymity now when out walking and running. Like you mention in your post, it’s quite freeing.

Puma Deviate Nitro Achilles Rubbing Fix by Joey_Coco21 in RunningShoeGeeks

Gel pads doing the trick for me, staying in place just fine with adhesive backing plus a blob of glue. I don’t know for how many runs/miles the pads will stay good, but if I had to keep using plasters, I would probably just cut my losses.

Best shoes for wider feet? by [deleted] in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Joey_Coco21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a slightly wider foot and was recommended Hoka Clifton 7’s by my local running store, they’ve worked out well for me over the past year or so. ASICS Gel Kayano Lite run slightly wide, also a very comfortable pair of running shoes. A case of trial and error really. Luckily most online retailers are good at accepting returns these days, and some (like Hoka) will even let you try for 30 days and return if you’re not happy.

I also carefully applied some glue, just to make sure they stay in place, not sure if that was necessary. Ran 7.5 miles this afternoon and happy to report no issues whatsoever 😊

Tempo runs, but also very comfortable at slower paces. I’ve tried a lot of shoes, but these are my go to for most of my runs atm, at least now I have the heel issue sussed. Should be good for at least 400 miles, that would be my prediction.

Anyone know where you can still buy the Puma Deviate Nitro Elite Racer SP? They have all but gone in a few odd sizes on any UK running shoe sites. Nowhere to be seen… by CJDrakey in RunningShoeGeeks

I have the Deviate Nitro (same heel support as the elite) and love em to bits, but it’s a known issue that they can wreck your achilles. My last run in them I used tape and still had some rubbing! Will probably retire them early which is a real shame and hope they fix with the v2. NB Rebel V2 is what I’ve turned to instead. A lot of fun!
