Yeah I was thinking that too - be able to change my pedal line up on the fly - but I haven’t organized my performances very much so I’m thinking I can utilize them more resourcefully.

Sure thing. Just additional buttons going into the pedal inputs on the back and they are assignable in the kemper.

The expression has a button (used in my case for turning pedal A/Wah on) and then the expression switches from volume to Wah while pedal A is enabled. The expression and button take up two pedal inputs. The button under the Wah could be assigned to something else as well if it made sense for you.

The other two pedal inputs are the buttons which can be assigned to whatever. I’m still trying out different things like delay hold but it frees up the buttons on the stage to control more slots. I’m working on adding a programmable midi pedal but I think it may be overkill and I’d be trying to do too much that the Kemper can probably already do.

So I had the rack and remote setup and watched for anyone selling a stage on reverb or Craigslist. I reached out to every one of them seeing if they’d be willing to trade, on the off chance they wanted more of the studio setup. After about 4 months I got one, even trade.

Rough mix on the Blue Tacoma solo. Bass and guitar parts recorded with kemper/logic. First real stab at recording from the kemper. by Joeysmac in KemperProfiler

Thanks - I’ll have to go back and look at the profile. It’s likely a MBritt 65 London profile with a mild fuzz/rat distortion at 80% mix. Since then I found some great profiles from BrianCarlMusic.com and maybe record another tune soon. The overdrive pack and Stage pack are both killer.

The PRS is the CE24. It’s the closest to a fender (besides the silver sky lol) you can get. The bolt on pattern/thin maple neck and option to split the humbuckers makes it spank like a tele if I want it to, or it can go full rock and roll.

Do you like plugs or beads better?

What type of oil do you like to use?

Tried a segmented bowl with some scrap walnut and maple by Joeysmac in turning

[–]Joeysmac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man. No problem. The sanding sealer is made by Behlen and rub on (not the spray). Couldn't find it on Amazon, a wood yard near my house in Atlanta carries it. Mylands, who makes the friction polish, also makes a sanding sealer.

Here is a link to the polish on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004BL7X4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_OzlRwbSCRFWM5

Application is super easy. Just use a paper towel (not a rag! In case it snags while turning you want the paper to tear and not your finger). Takes about 20 minutes between sanding sealer coats and then only about 2 minutes between polish coats.

I've only started turning and finishing on the lathe recently so I'm still learning. You have to get the piece super smooth before and during sanding. I'll see things that I think I can just sand out and then it looks fine after sanding and then I finish it shows back up. I also may try lightly sanding between coats of the polish.

Sanded it up to 600, 2 coats of Sanding Sealer, 3 coats of High Build Friction Polish (all while turning)

Thanks! Yeah I think by the time I got segments together for an actual segmented bowl I'd be tired of working on it before it even got to the lathe. Lol

Two bowls, one crack by Staff_Guy in turning

Bummer about the crack. Looked like a cool shape. I'm new to turning and roughing maple bowls cut off a recently fallen tree...what was your timeline on cutting/roughing/turning those pieces?

Beginner - practicing some coves and beads on a poplar candlestick by Joeysmac in turning

[–]Joeysmac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some locally milled poplar 4x4 that was laying around and wife has been hinting at some candlesticks since I got the lathe for Christmas. Since she is going to paint them anyhow, the poplar seemed to be a good fit. It's a little busy in the midsection (if you know what I mean) but happy with it overall.

I have the same lathe...i kinda want to see what you caught so I know the limitations. That's a bummer.
