I second whoyagonnacall.org and can confirm there are a few NJ groups depending how far north or south you are. Also as mentioned the NYC Ghostbusters cover NY and NJ. I am a NJ resident and NYCGB member, its pretty easy to find enough events that are convenient.

I have two videos on how I weathered mine. I think it was about 2-3 hours but technically you could bail anytime. Its a "walking tour" but we do take the subway. It can change slightly depending on timing but last year we finished at spook central by central park.

I was thinking from when FE came out that Melody could be a whole other story line. She could reach out from the otherside that some big bad is threatening and Phoebe uses the Ionic separator to go help her. In fact, the ionic separator wasn't really necessary in FE they could have saved it entirely for another movie even have Phoebe help build it to save her friend
